Biased GM/Scandalous JPFollow

#1 Oct 14 2004 at 2:49 PM Rating: Decent
I was waiting for an NM in Bibiki Bay. I was later killed by a link train near the docks, my mp was too low to heal, and i couldnt pull manafont quick enough. Later, my friend requests a raise from a level 75 japanese player. They agree and come to raise me. Im a level 65, so the nice thing to do would be to use Raise II or III, right? No, the japanese player decides that because im an american player, she uses raise I. I was so outraged I just bloodported back to jeuno. The xp loss didnt bother me as much as their prejudice. So I told her she was a blatant racist after discovering her intentions, and that of her party. I realize I should of been appreciative for a raise at all, but their prejudice made me so upset I didnt even care. Later I get transported to the GM prison the next day, saying I've been suspended for 3 days, and if it happens again ill get perma-banned.

This is blatant discrimination on the part of Japanese players and especially Square Enix. Many other players and myself have launced complaints on japanese players before, and GM's have never done anything. I know because those individuals are still playing as if nothing happened. Meanwhile because a japanese player complains about me or another player, and all hell breaks loose.

When I was on Shiva server previously, I saw a japanese players camp the manticore NM in Onzozo Labyrinth. They had fought the monster and died. One of my LS friends had taken over after they died and finished the monster off. The japanese players had bloodported, so the NM was fair game. Later, the japanese players spammed him saying he was a 'beggar child' and an MPK. We all had complained about the Japanese players in question, but as always nothing was done. Those players guilty of the mudslinging still continue to play. Another friend of mine had his account hacked by a japanese player and had all his items stolen from him. The only things left behind were his AF armor.

Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? Im seriously considering boycotting this game and Square Enix. They are completely biased against players who aren't japanese, and only seem to take action when the complaint originated from a JP player. Also, I have seen that a vast majority of Japanese players themselves are biased against non-japanese players. Some are real nice, but that isnt the case with many of them.

Whats worse is that many american players support them anyway, regardless of the facts. If a Japanese player had scammed me or another non-Japanese player, no one would even batter an eye at it, most people would just say:

"Live with it, you shouldnt have given him/her the item in the first place if you dont know them".

But if an American player decides to scam a JP player, that player becomes blacklisted by everyone. Dont get me wrong, Im not favoring scamming by anyone to anyone. In most examples the japanese player that was victimized had given their items willingly to the other player, without ever considering the scam possibility. Would you lend your car, or your house, or some other prize possesion to someone you didnt even know? Of course not!

This game and many of its players favor the Japanese, even though the facts and examples are staring them in the face. Most would say "Well theres always a few bad apples", or something to that nature. But it seems that this biased behavior is favored amongst the majority of japanese players. Im sure many others can remember similar experiences.

Thinking about this makes me think if i even wish to continue playing such a game anymore. Ive spent much work leveling and developing my character. But do I really want to play a game ran by a crooked corporation like Square Enix who favors one segment of its player population, while neglecting others? Seems pretty jacked up since this game was created for the entire world to play.

Don't you just love to hate the JP's.

It isn't once in awhile that you ask a japanese player to help you out with a link when they are passing through or just a simple question.

So what if they can't respond because they don't know english. The freaking least they can do is say {I am sorry i don't know how to answer that question}{Japanese}. More than 9/10 of the japanese population that i ask questions to (i didn't konw they were japanese at the time) won't even freaking respond to me. It pisses me off when there is a freaking lvl 75 drk passing by you and he doesn't do **** to help you kill the gob butcher link in the dunes or some where else when it would only take one swing of his scythe to kill the gob. Then you go to selbina later and find him sitting there with his bazaar up selling food. This pisses me off more than most of the time because they are such racists and jerks. I don't even understand how they are in RL if they are like this in the game. At least the NA jerks say something when they are running past and not just run like they never even saw you there waving to them or poking them with all your might to get their attention.

After playing this game for over 900 hours of my life i have grown a passion for hating the JP's just because they think they are all high and mighty. Not to mention SE thinks they are too >:o

Yes we should all rise up and protest.

<Japanese> <players> <No Thanks>

<English> <server> <please>

We should alienate the hell out of them. Just as they've done to us
#4 Oct 14 2004 at 3:28 PM Rating: Decent
I Believe they should have seperate english/jp servers. Yes I know some JP are nice, but majority, are jerks, take all the NM's, hike up prices, and think we are inferior. I had one majoir inccident with high level JP players. I was in Jeuno shouting for help with LB1, offering to pay 50K for all 3 items. I get a response from a 66 RDM, JP, ok cool, but she says we need more help. So she tells her lvl 75 RNG friend, all the sudden its 50k each, fine whatever, I just want to get it done.
So I find a PLD that lvl 50 J/E that needs LB1 and he says sure, I tell him he will have to pay also, thinking mine will be a little cheaper since we have 2 now, and they will be going there anyways. I tell the JP helpers that I have someone and they say ok, both of you pay 30k each, I'm thinking nice. Well the PLD gets there and starts talking to them in japanese, next thing I know they are saying they will still need 50k each from me. Im kinda pissed now, but I want LB1 done, so I say fine. It turned out after we got the first 2 items, they are too tired to get the paper, the toughest item of course. So they tell me it will be 20k to each of them, so I pay them and they log. I ask the PLD how much they charged him and he said they told him it was free from the beginning. So if that isnt being racist, I dont know what is.

Are you sure they were even a WHM? As you did not state the job of the japanese player.

If it was a WHM, they don't HAVE to use Raise II/III on you. Heck I personally think your just being a little whiner. You didn't get a Raise II or III, so you blood port back to Jeuno. I would be grateful that the player even came to raise me in the first place, getting 25% of the exp lost is better than losing it all. The raiser isn't your servant, they went out of their way to come and raise you, and you complain like a child. And do you even know they are being prejudice? Maybe he/she did not have enough MP for the other raise spells, didn't have those two spells (Its possible for a level 75 WHM to not have those spells with the costs now a days). Personally, I think you deserve to be jailed.

i think some of the JP's are a little upset that America landed a nuclear bomb on them a while ago. Either that or they are "whimpering babbies that need to move on and learn to get along with each other instead of being racist scum that shouldnt even have been born". This applies to all racists and morons.
#7REDACTED, Posted: Oct 14 2004 at 3:57 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok Killikun, obviously you're one of the intellectually challenged, so let me enlighten you. The player was a Whm, they had the damn duckbills on, and they were camped in the same area. So they were'nt going out of their way. She even stated that her pt told her to use only raise I for NA. I will post her name next week for everyone to see

It's so sad that some of the JPs treat us like this...why? Cuz I'm Japanese. I live in NYC and use the NA version to play, so I can't type in Japanese. I've tried to communicate with them in Romaji which is using English alphabet to spell out the japanese words. They don't respond...only on VERY rare occasion that they ask me if I'm Japanese, purposely in Japanese characters. I say, yes, then they are all friendly and everything...unless otherwise, they ignore, they say bad stuff about me in Japanese in PTs, whatever...

I got over them and decided that even though we come from the same f-ing island are not worth my time, my energy, my friendship. So I keep a few nice ones as friends and the rest can eat my Raise I too >:( The thing that ticks me off is when you see somthing like:

At AH: "Whatever new hot item"
Tomoko 5,000,000 -> Tomoko 5,000,000

In JP forums, they frequently talk about how rude we are, how unappreciative we are...but how many times have you been in an all JP PT, and seen them use {auto-translator}? When we NAs get even ONE JP guy, we use {auto translator} to the fullest extent, go out of our way to be courteous, etc. (and hence I don't wanna PT with them...not only do I have to worry about my PT's health, but the mood of a single JP player? {No Thanks})

Like the one I recently read: "We think NAs are monkeys because the say "hehehe" and we really want them to stop because that's rude and we don't like it. We would like them to use "haha"" (If I can find this post I'll stick a link on it)

I almost fell off the chair on this one. Well you know what, I'd really prefer if they stopped talking about tits and ***** while I'm trying to rest up my MP. I can read all that, you now. And stop using those childish ASCII face pictures. It bugs me and I think it's silly.

Now, there is one quality I wish some NAs had... like not deciding to leave a PT in midst.. "My mom's calling me I gtg" and suddenly leave us tank-less... or "Guys, I'm tired, good night" ... JP PTs set a time BEFORE heading to camp and say that they will PT up for X number of hours. When we are done, we ALL come back to Jeuno or wherever. If we want to continue PT-ing, we go our separate ways, LFG-ing again. This JP rule, I like...I don't have to waste an hour while the PT leader look for a replacement.

But generaly, my serach comment will say:
{RaiseII}{Dark Staff}{Light Staff}{Ready!}
{Japanese}{Party}{No Thanks}
{English}{Party}{Please invite me.}

I've not run into this problem mostly because I have gone so far only as to Yhoatar and most JP's I end up grouping with end up grouping as a single JP in a NA dominant group. They tend to be quiet. They don't bark orders, even when you're doing something stupid. Could be coincidence though.

I hope this is not the kind of behavior I'll encounter when I want to start hunting NM's and do high level questing...

BTW, first time I ever ate food was when a JP gave me a meat mithkabob in La Thienne for free while pt'ing. I continue that method of teaching to this day to all the newer players.

But I will say one thing. The GM's are lazy and ignorant. I've never been put into jail, nor rebuked for any inappropriate actions, but not once has a GM responded to a problem I've been having with their actions. They don't do anything to anybody, and don't even pay attention to my /tells.

For instance, I had a problem the other day and while I was describing the problem, as in reference to where I observed it and not even who it was, the GM says, "I apologize for this player's behavior. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

I was sorely offended, how can you say that while not knowing the player's damn name?! When I made it clear to him that I felt he wasn't paying attention, you want to know what he said? "Is there anything else that I can help you with?" After becoming even more angry and holding my temper lest I be placed in jail for insulting the jerk, I said, "Fine. Very well..." @$$hole replied with "I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Vanadiel."

This sort of thing has happened with three different GM's already. Forget about inaction, they're lazy and they don't pay attention. I was considering reporting GM's to other GM's, but I figured it would be pointless.

I dunno guys could you guys have been mistaken, Because I know of a group of Hong Kong Players who admittedly help only if they are paid, LOL He was a self confessed gil minded fella, but not a scammer. I had to pay him like 30-50 k to help me on my af 2 the other time but he did a good job at it,LOL. was another incident when we were spamming for help with af3 and a group of them offered to help at a price of i think 30k each person.. I'm sure they are not Japanese.. could be from Hong Kong ( and I'm not suprised, as they are not embarrased to admit it themselves LOL ) but I'm not totally sure, but they are definately not Japanese

I've had gotten help form japanese players quite a few timnes and so far non of them has ever asked me for payment of any sort.

This Personposted this in at least 5 different threads. I am having a really really hard time beleiving everything thats said. I am positive there is much more to the story then is being told. here is a link to one of the other ones in which i was able to respon before it got locked (from posting it soooo many times).

maybe im just crazy, but threads like this are not good for the FFXI community, and really not good in general. It seems we have a coalition against the JP here, and thats a load of crap, especially since i can almost guarantee you that this thread is not totally acurate (something is missing).

LOL it seems to me that you are simply being just like the Japanese players by hating on them. F it man... if people want to be pricks oh well but dont start hating on a whole group of people because of a few. Thats called racism pal and its ignorant... here in the U.S. we are more aware and sensitive to the race situation. If you have ever travelled overseas AT ALL you will know that racism is RAMPANT in other countries. To people in other countries its no big deal to call black people the n word or monkeys, when we were in Europe they heard it all the time and my friend who is Thai got called Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee a lot... The point I guess I am trying to make is that its almost considered acceptable in some countries (in japan especially) to be racist. In Japan if you are American you will know how it feels to be discriminated against trust me I was stationed there. There are just as many friendly Japanese as there are ********... but lets face it... its like the old bridge builder thing... A man can build a million bridges and suck one ****... and he will be forever remembered as a **** sucker. Nobody posts the good stories that they have with JPN players because its how its supposed to be just normal fun time... there is no post in that. What I propose is dont stoop to their level we have a level of racial enlightenment here in the states that people never fully appreciate. Dont crap all over the work that so many people have fought so long for, that so many people have died for, being a racist is bad, being a racist when you KNOW its bad and its not acceptable is way worse. Dont stoop to that level.

Before y'all go off pissing and moaning about the japanese players, I think we need to consider that a goodly majority of NA players of FF11 SUCK. Pure and simple, they SUCK.

All the bad things you seem so quick to attribute to the Japanese players, I see the NA players doing too, so we, as in the NA players, are not much better. Don't be so quick to pass judgement.

Should we have seperate severs? No, it's a waste of resources, and it will impact the fees we pay to play.

Most of th Japanese players I party with are fairly cool, patient types. They appreciate the fact that I am reasonably able to communicate to them in their own language. Are some of them ****** I'm sure there are some, being a **** is a cross-cultural trait...

On the flip side, most of the Japanese players I know think a goodly number of the NA players they have encountered are immature little whiners *coughPS2cough* and to be honest, i don't blame them one bit.

And in response to Kosabosa's original complaint of only getting a Raise 1 instead of 2 or 3... suck it up buttercup he didn't have to raise you at all. With an attitude like your I'd have just left you there. But then again, i'm evil :D

Anyhoo, if you don't like what's happening, step back and take a break for a few days... after all this is a game and it should be fun.

Kosabosa I read your thread and it got me thinkin.....

I am with you on the whole NA server thing. Granted yes it does seem a bit extreme to some people. But quite a few na players have grown Tired of the way alot of JP players treat NA players. I posted my own thread in the Valefor server forum. Expecting a Raise II or III was a bit much, granted they could have done it to be nice but they were nice enough to raise you. And if they were EXPin in the area they not have wanted to wait for the downtime of the MP recharge from a Raise III. Everyone is going to have different opinions on a NA specific Server. Afterall is said and done the only thing we can really do is to get in contact iwht people who want the same as we do and write letters to SE. Posting here on these boards will only get us flamed unfortunately. So might as well start a topic about, asking nicely for only the people who want a NA server to post and we can all chat about and find out where to send such letters. If you have AIM/AOL my name is shortfuuzze feel free to contact me

I must point out a huge and i mean HUGE flaw in this "i want my own server cause im a whinny little bit$h" theory.

I am sure all (or at least anyone with at least some common sense) sell things on AH. Tell me, how many times you have logged off for the evening, to come back the next day and see your item was sold :) yeahh my item sold now i can go buy the stuff i wanted woo hoo party down yipee skipeee. Now imagine if no one was playing while you were sleeping. Imagine if some NA player works nights, and want to exp. Imagine If during the day you couldnt find any materials for crafting the items you want to craft. Imagine only being able to lvl from 9:00 am - 9:00 Pm because there wasnt enough people your lvl on anyother time. That would be a big issue, as having people from all over the world all on one server makes it a lot more likely that you can lvl anytime you want. Or you can go to AH and buy the items you want.

By cutting out such a well rounded part of the game, you would be cutting your own throat. If you dont like JP players, there attitudes, ect, then dont play wiht them. Dont ask them for a raise, and dont talk to them at all. But just know that by doiong that you make yourself very ignorant, and put all the work our country has done to be a free country free of racism back a few centuries. No the Us isnt racist free, but its a damn lot better then it was say 50 years ago, and improving every day. I for one would rather not go backwards, and instead look to the future.

Anyways, rate me, flame me, or whatever.

ummm.....As far as not being able to find a party or lvl or get the items i need. i highly doubt that considering now I very rarely PT with JP players. Yes i do on occasion PT with them if they accept the invite, but 98% of the time my PT's are all na's from within the USA. Which means if they were to make an NA server i wouldnt have problem. you gotta figure that even though it would be an NA server there are people playing all hours of the day. the different time zones, ages, work, school all of that stuff. The server would quickly enough balance itself out. And it's not a "I'm a whiny *****....etc" theory. `

Hinageshii? So youre saying Chiyoyo sucks? And arent you NA too? If you wont even ******* respect your own countrymen you dont deserve your rights and freedoms. Bottom Line is this:

1. America is the greatest country in the world.
2. If you take it for granted (Like Hinageshii has) then you dont deserve to be here.

Hinageshii go take a lesbian vacation with Chiyoyo to Afghanistan for 2 weeks, that way when you return to The Land of the Free you'll appreciate more how wonderful our country is. Im not saying this cause I hate you (but I do hate you) Im saying this simply as a Proud American to an unhappy American.

|hmmmm.|

for the record I've read the entire post and I can see where Kosabosa is a bit pissed at people repeating questions that have already been answered. I do agree with the sentiment that Kosabosa is prejudice against japanese players at the time he wrote his original post. Maybe he wasn't so prejudice when the event happened? I think it is more likely that Kosabosa believe Japanese hates Americans so strongly that he subconsciously creates the 'evidence' to support it. As many have already stated there are many plausible and reasonable explanations for why a Japanese player would offer a raise I and not a raise II/III and not have the intention of insulting you.

Of course, I have never been over to Japan. So if anyone wants to disregard my post for doing so please save yourself some time. Yet I do try to listen a great deal. Currently I am studying the Japanese Language and I believe I have learned a great deal from my earlier misconceptions of Japanese culture. People often say Japanese are arrogant; yet the facts support the opposite. In 1964 the Olympics was held in Japan. The Japanese society at the time viewed it as a major event because they finally felt they had recovered from WWII. The reality was that they had recovered sometime before hand but they didn't really see it. They were so honored by having the Olympics held in Tokyo that they created a national holliday (Exercise Day) for it.

My sensii spent some time over in Japan and related the previous historical lesson to us. He said it to lead into saying that as a culture Japanese have a very real inferriority complex in regards to America. The original reason Final Fantasy games aren't 'immediately' shipped over to the US is because they want to be sure they were 'good enough' based upon their own countries reaction to the game.

If anyone really follows baseball at all they will know of a Japanese player named Ichiro that plays for the Seattle Mariners. Ichiro originally played Japanese Baseball. At the time of his transfer to the Mariners he was consider 'one of thee best players of all time' (for them). At the time almost 'everyone' told him "Do not go to the US" and it wasn't because of arrogance as some might assume. It was because they didn't think he was good enough for US Baseball. Nevermind the fact that the was legendary in Japanese Baseball; he wasn't good enough for US Baseball, and they didn't want 'their best' to go over to the US and 'fail'. The Nation as a whole would have felt a certain amount of shame if that had happened. The irony being the Ichiro is one of the best players in US Baseball and just recently broke a couple records this current baseball season.

The stories I have told are to relate the real world to everyone. I have read the whole post but no one has ever backed up why they say Japanese are arrogant. They always use "Japanese are arrogant" as a justification or some excuse for their actions. Yet I have just given some very real world examples to support my statement that its the reverse. I am not saying all Japanese have an inferriority complex and I am sure some Japanese are arrogant. Yet I think whoever said that 6/10 Japanese players are arrogant is a little "intellectually challanged" themselves.

Something else people need to understand is that 'respect' in Japan is one of the pillars of their society. I know this has been said before but until I started studying the language I never really understood completely. So without giving a language lesson I will try to elaborate. Telling someone in Japan that they are a "wilted flower" is the equivilant of saying 'F--- Y--' in English. There literally, are no cuss words in the language. As someone one has already said, in japan what you say is not nearlly as important as 'how' you say it. If you tell someone you just met 'ja' (see you later) instead of Dewa Mata (see you later) there is a very good chance they will be insulted. The reason is because you 'assumed' the lowest lvl of formality.

Finally, everyone has playing this game has seen romanjii (Japanese in english) and they have seen Japanese use their own language in game. What, I believe, most people don't understand is that romanjii to Japanese is kinda like hooked on phonics for English. Sure it 'is' the language but there are a lot of holes in it. It is true that 'most' Japanese know English and all are currently taught English at a very early age. It is also true that Japanese do not feel comfortable with speaking, let alone writing, english at all. My instructor said that some Japanese will literally run away from you just to avoid trying to speak English to you. It's kind of funny too when it takes them a second for them to realize that my instructor is speaking to them in Japanese and not English. ^^

Anyhow, I personally have seen a lot of errors in statements and judgements that have been stated so far regarding Japan and it's culture. I have been fascinated with Japan for the longest time and would love to get a chance to visit and maybe live over there for a time. I can actually here some of you people's groans over that but I don't worship the ground Japanese walk on. I don't think less of America in regards to Japan. Japan and America have two entirely different cultures that have their own merits and flaws. The point to this is to merely defend myself from people saying I am just another *** lover or whatever.

Here are some specific points regarding the storie and Kosabosa's response/problem.

1.) Whm's don't have to raise anyone period. As it has already been said; you were overreacting to bloodport. The reality is that you probably offended the whm a 'whole lot' more by bloodporting than you 'really' were by the concieved 'raiseI' insult.

2.)Compound the obvious major insult to the *** whm by bloodporting with a whole tired of /tells? and I can easily see the *** as calling a GM on you. I also can see why the GMs have a bigger problem with it and it goes back to the whole culture thing. If someone in America tells you kiss off, you pretty much respond in kind and go along your daily business. In japan? if you do the equivelant? you are about to declare WWIII without senate approval. ^^ So sense the Japanese culture has a bigger problem with it, I can easily see the GM's response to be bigger as well.

3.)I don't agree with the whole "Japan is it's biggest market" I say that is a load of crap and everyone knows it. The laws of economics say stagnate and die. If SE remains content to merely hold 'Japan' as its FFXI market they would not have opened up in NA and EU. The reality is that SE has 'shown' an interest in becoming a 'global' game. I think the better answer is that Japan merely cares more about honor and respect than the average american does so SE responds more so.

4.)As I have stated earlier, Romanjii is not easy to speak Japanese in and Japanese tend to avoid it all together. It is entirely more likely that the *** player was stating things with perfectly honorable intentions. Yet your prejudice against Japanese players distorted what he/she was saying into something that it was not. I am sure Kosabosa doesn't actually believe me when I say this. I am sure most logical people reading my post would agree that it is easy for a foreigner to say something stupid and/or offensive if they don't know the language verywell.

5.) in your post you asked if anyone had encountered a similar situation. I would have to say that I have but by NA players and not JP players. I have had NA players run by me after I have already called for help on the mob, train mobs, be general jirks, and run by my dead corpse when they are wearing whm or rdm AF gear. I have pted a good amount of JP players and I honestly enjoying pting with them a lot more than the average NA player. They are generally good people and they are more into actually playing he game than taking a 5 minute break every 10 minutes.

I am sure my post has bored a few people but before you respond with something silly; just remember that no one was holding a gun to your head and forcing you to read my post. ^^
#22 Oct 15 2004 at 3:01 PM Rating: Decent
Ill admit your post has enlightened myself a little, and I gave youa rate up for it. On the other hand I never see NA players with "english only" in thier search comments, but yet I constantly see it for JP players saying JP only. My take on this is:

1. Either they are arrogant and think they are better than all NA players, and partying with us is just a waste of thier time.

2. They care more about conversation than leveling and want to party with others who speak thier own language.

3. They have had a bad experience with a NA player and condemned the rest of us because of it.

I have partied with many JP players and they always seem to be good and do thier jobs, but they need to understand that many of us NA players are very good also, and should give us a chance instead of posting JP only. I actually was forming a party once and had 2 JP players and 3 NA players, and all we needed was a PLD, we had WHM/RDM/BLM/RNG/DRK. I was looking for over 45 minutes to complete this good party and the only PLD seeking was JP, with JP only in his search. I tried several time to get him to join, i told him all party members jobs and always used the auto translate to communicate, and he kept saying I dont speak english, JP only. So finally I passed the lead to one of the JP members and asked him to invite the PLD, sure enough he joined right away. That party was one of the best parties I have been in and I have been in over 1,000 parties. 3 NA/3JP go figure it made a good combination.

One other thought, this one in regards to GM's. Last night I was partying with this Sam named Giantegg. I had never seen him before, but I do remember seeing a player named Giantovary, just hadnt seen them in awhile. I asked him if he was Giantovary and he said yes, that a GM made him change his name. Which in the first place I dont see why that is such an inapproiate name, but the thing that pisses me off is that there is a JP player running around with the name "God" and they havent made him change his name. That is truley biased there, just because they dont believe in God it is ok?. Explain this one to me...

Well... a lot of people dont believe in god per se. I myself could care less if someone wants to name their player god. Perhaps they are just referring to their skills as a player or any god from the past. Some religions have taken the term god and kind of made it so it seems singularly theirs... let me ask you this... would it offend you if someone named a character... Zeus ? or Thor, or Kali or Shiva ? I bet most of those names are taken. So that guy just used the general term god, I dont think its that big of a deal. Its not like he made his name Muhammed or Allah or Jesuschrist or something... even then its his freedom to do so. As far as the ovary guys name... its a part of the female sexual anatomy whether it be the scientific name or not I dont really see it being appropriate. What would you think if you saw someone named Testes running around ?

Now to respond to the post above... about the Japanese culture. A lot of what you said is true. The only point I was trying to make was that I had experienced A LOT of racism while spending several years in Japan. I posted on this in a different post a while back saying the same thing basially but also mentioned that a lot of Americans are somewhat to fault because we expect people to speak english or use some equivalent form of it. That many times if you try just a little to use some of the culture or to learn some of the culture and language from another country that you will find the people more friendly. This isnt always the case but it will make a difference with lots of people. This game is a Japanese game it was developed by Japanese people and has since been released to the rest of the world. So we really have no right to expect anything from those players as far as using the auto translator or speaking english. Just like they dont expect us to type things in Kanji. Guess its all a point of perspective.

As far as the whole do whms have to teleport thing... there is a thread around here ALL ABOUT THAT lol so post that stuff on that one.

cerphine has a point.

so do i, it's only a game. ^_^;

*********** seppuku for being an immature little *****

oh btw, if any of you have met me in-game, i play a female elvaan, but in the real world, i'm a guy... in case y'all needed that spelled out for you. it's pretty obvious when my character speaks that I'm a guy though....

I lived in japan for a year on student exchange, my host family was really cool and nice to me except for the grandmother who lived with them, she lost her husband in WW2 and wasn't very nice to me in the beginning, but she warmed up to me eventally. Racism? Probably not, I just brought up some baaaad memories.

as for the rest of my experience, the older japanese people i dealt with were not as open or as nice as the ones my age, so yeah, i suspect it's more nationalism than actual racism. i didn't make a big deal out of it, neither did they. life is too short to worry about silly **** like that.

*saddles up on chocobo and goes yagudo hunting... here signa... here signa... nice signa....*

Hinageshii? So youre saying Chiyoyo sucks? And arent you NA too? If you wont even @#%^ing respect your own countrymen you dont deserve your rights and freedoms. Bottom Line is this:

i am SO going to enjoy this....
i did not come through fire and death to bandy words with a witless worm like yourself... but what the heck, you need to learn who you betters are... the sooner the better (no pun intended)

Ok slappy, if you had bothered to read my post i said MOST NA players suck. not all of them, most of them. I've partied many times with people that have done nothing be get power-leveled and now they try to party and don't have a bloody clue what they are doing... case in point warriors not knowing how/when/why to get the monster's hate off the white mage. also, many of the people that suck, are fresh from diablo 2, a known haven for cheaters and other lowlifes, or everquest *shivers in terror*. The average american gamer is not used to playing co-operative online games, heck I even got slapped around when I started, but I learned. the people that suck don't learn and refuse to learn. that is one of the biggest complaints i hear from both J and NA players are the noobs that don't get it. I try to help them if i can, but most just blow and and act like immature little kids. The biggest thing that retards their growth as a player is the power-leveling. not knowing what your job is for in a party by the time your level 15 is pretty sad.

1. America is the greatest country in the world.
2. If you take it for granted (Like Hinageshii has) then you dont deserve to be here.

super-patriotism is the refuge of the scoundrel... and in your case the brain-dead. I was not hating on America, just the laughable excuses for players that come from here. and for the record you stupid sod, i'm from Ireland, and I am an american citizen. what seppuku seems to be forgetting that even I'm entitled to 1st amendment rights, like he is... the only difference is I'm not making a complete horse's *** of myself in the exercise of them. And while I'm on the subject *cracks knuckles* who are YOU to decide whether or not I'm good enough to be here. I pay my taxes, i vote, and participate like a good citizen, whereas a person like you is content to ***** and moan and attack from the sidelines, you love this country so much, join the military and DEFEND these rights. I am too old for military service, but I support them, even thought the CiC is a complete and utter git... but that's another matter for another thread.

I've been outside the country before, and by that I don't mean I've been to the big city like you have from your little red-necked corner of america. I've been too/from Ireland, I've lived in Japan, I've visited most of Europe, where, praytell have YOU been? America is a nice country, it's got it's share of problems, but that's the same all over.

And for the last time, give it a rest about Chiyoyo and myself. All your tantrums about it make you seem like the jilted lover and a VERY small person indeed... though the fact you play a Taru^2 sorta does make you small too but that's besides the point.

In closing, seppuku, i wish to state two things:

1- grow up.
2- be thankful there is no PK in this game.
