So its friday. Last day before the weekend. Good day usually? Not for me today.

I get up as usual at 6:30. I take a nice long shower, And I get out, start getting dressed, when I hear my front door opening. At 7 am

I ask "who is it", and hear a muffled sounding something along the lines of "maintenance" before whoever it is ducks into my bathroom. Still half dressed, I pick up the only readily available weapon in the bedroom, My leatherman, and go out to the bathroom area. The bathroom is in a narrow hallway, and it's small. Not much room in there to maneuver. I can hear him in there, but I can’t see him.

I pound on the door, standing off to the side. I figure if he has a gun he's going to shoot through the door. He opens it, and I see he is unarmed. He has my coat with my wallet, keys and cell phones in it, and the government access badge for where I work (which was not anywhere near my coat) he's wearing a blue shirt and jeans, no coat of his own.

At knifepoint, I ordered him to empty his pockets out, then to remove his drivers license from his wallet, place the license on the ground. I then escorted him out of the apartment (still at knifepoint) and locked the door behind him.

I then retrieved my phone (which was in with him) and called the police, who arrived 20 minutes later. In hindsight I probably should have kept him in the apartment under guard.

So they get my statement, I get my locks changed out, and I go to work. They call me back a few hours later, they searched his house and found unspecified drug items, and he apparently has a prior record. There will be a trial once they manage to catch him, which given that they have his real name, address, and all sorts of supporting information (like his stupid myspace page with his stupid friends on it) should not take too long.

So that's how my morning went. Anyone else have a better day?

I demand you change the title of this thread to "Kaolian is a Bad MotherfUcker", to reflect the actual events of the day. Oh, and link to his Myspace, please.

Did you take any of the cash from his wallet?

I mean, there's nothing quite like going to perform a little innocuous identity theft and getting mugged in the process... Smiley: laugh

I can't link it until after his trial or else it might pop up on a search and potentially prejudice witnesses. After the trial I will link it. Darkflame and a few others have seen it though, so you can ask her what she thinks.

Glad to hear he didn't have a gun, or a bigger knife. That would have sucked.

That's scary and you're very lucky that he didn't have a gun or another weapon and have evil intent. I hope they can catch him soon before he can attempt to do that to someone else.

I'd a hurt him, but then I'd hurt anyone if I had to wake up for work at seven in the morning. I don't go to bed 'til that late some days.

Having a myspace page can only damage his character when on trial.

Good to hear there was no stabbings done by you, or to you. The rest of your weekend just has to be better now, right... RIGHT?

In hindsight I probably should have kept him in the apartment under guard.

Nah. What's that lead to? You call the cops he starts to think it's a good idea to try to leave and you what...stab him? What you should have done is tied him up with a combination of S&M gear and cable ties and then called the police.

I would have staked his hand to the floor with the knife, a la M. Emmett Walsh in Blood Simple.
