Sadly that is the life of PUP. One of those skills from an automaton got "fixed" too :/. But you're 66 so you'll be alright.

PUP is actually pretty good if played properly. Magic Mortar was broken, even PUPs had agreed; they were doing like 2-3k damage with that>_>.

About the lol-Job altitude, it is too bad the stigma lived on; the stigma lived on because a lot of people need something to "lol" on. You will always run into people who think they need something to show superior on. Such need of E-Peen and superiority tend to .... show up on some players for certain jobs more than others (I hate to say that; a lot of you Bards are guilty of this!).

You should talk to some other PUP, and I think it will really help your play.

PS: Blah Admins don't like the phrase "lol-PUP" when even used for a positive or non-rude manner-_-' (lol-Job was lol-PUP:P)

Ama's post reminded me of the role of mages in WoW. Basically, all they had become was a vending machine and portal maker. A class that was supposed to become the single best caster dps in the game was nerfed to beyond usefulness. The niche they had was filled by warlocks and shamans. That wasn't why I quit WoW. I believe any nerf can be overcome by a true player of the class and abandoned by those that play it as a flavor of the month kind of thing. Why I quit WoW was that they kept removing any challenge and handing epics to any player no matter their skill or time spent.

Anyways, welcome back and sorry for the rant.

I see something like that in FF nowadays, but I would not called "handing out epics." Rather than changing the curve at the top, the curve at the mid-lower end has changed a lot in FFXI now. People in the top tier still pretty much the same, but I think a lot of top tier players are starting more to realize their potential.

Rather than saying monsters getting nerfed, I think monsters are not getting strong enough to match up to the change of players. The whole concept that you can TP burn a HNM bothers me; they are not intended to be brought down in 3 min. Most typical NQ end game participates will never be able to do that, and I am glad they fixed that stupid DRK zerg thing (now fix the Kraken Club too!). I also dislike players going to show off how they TP burn Kirin in 3 min, and say if you cannot do that, you are suck ball NQ LS. Rather than 640 K ought to be enough, 20-30 min HNM fights are ought to be enough, I will say.

It is so much easier to level up nowadays. Mudflation also helps people to gear up a little easier now. I do personally have no objections people getting geared up with "standard" stuff easier now.

Amanada, to play devils advocate here, the game has reached a point with gear and merits that an "NQ Shell" can TP burn a mob like Kirin, even without Rune Chopper DRKs. Now, for us at least, it's a matter of efficiency. We can TP burn Kirin, and still have the rest of the night to farm another set of pop items.

I'd like to see more challenging fights, that are updated to account for the better gear and merits that have been added. Einherjar seems to be a step in the right direction, and I'm hoping that WOTG will introduce some things that are actually a real challenge to fight (not just to claim, but that's another subject).

Einherjar is mostly another big burn-fest (if not TP than mana-burn). imo, it is as lame as doing the same thing on another event.

I would rather see monster gets harder to match up the gear level of players. And I am not sure how you do Kirin, but tanking Kirin straight up is not "TP burning" it (fighting Kirin straight up is better, and is the method I liked); but that still takes 15-20 min, and 20 min ought to be ok for everyone.

I am at the stage of the game that I don't really care how efficient the game is. I just want to have a fun or exciting time. I would rather shorten trigger farming time (bloody Despot), and make the bad **** NM to be truly bad ***** instead the game has been opposite most of the time.

Even you do Kirin the "old way" (i.e. kiting it), a Kirin fight is still FAR shorter than farming even a set of trigger for just one of the four gods. That is where the game is broken.

I will be happy if the trigger farming time is slashed by half (or even better 75%!), and make Kirin so hard has to be kited or will eat all of you if you suck. That will actually cause more excitement doing Kirin, than making Kirin such a routine thing. I hate to see people doing "not another Kirin or Byakko."

And I mostly agree Amanada, I'd like something that is an actual challenge to fight. Einherjar was implemented to present a challenge in that you have a horde of monsters that has to be controlled at once. That in itself presents a challenge, but like you're stating, it's not the challenge that we're looking for. I think we'd both like monsters that are extremely hard to kill, that require teamwork and don't just die in a few minutes regardless of what anyone does.

Our Kirins are normally around 2 minutes, it's a full-on TP burn. I'm not saying that to brag, I'm saying it because I agree, it seems broken that an endgame mob such as Kirin can be killed that fast, but he can, so we save time and do it that way.

Like I said earlier, I'm really hoping WOTG introduces some HNMs that are a much higher level than we're used to, that require a group to work together to kill.
