Tonight when I logged on some LS mates were making a run at Holla, so I joined them. Alliance was a mess, some careless folk etc, other than that, we got to spire just fine. We lost the NM fight due to a minor dose of bad luck, however the strategy for the most part was flawless. Strategy we used is as follows:
Preferred PT setup: PLD, RNG, RNG, SAM, SAM, RDM
Rare/Ex Item is *not* needed.
Each person in PT needs the following:
2-3 Poison Potions to prevent AoE Sleep
3 Holy Waters to cure Curse AoE
PLD needs 10 Hi-Potions/Other melee need 5 or more.
RDM needs Ethers of course.
Upon entering battlefield, NO BUFFS/FOOD, NM can absorb them and grow stronger. Everyone use Poison Potion but RDM(Poison to counter Sleep AoE) Keep an eye out and make sure you have poison going the whole time or you will be slept. SAM's need to meditate upon entering.
Once ready, PLD and SAM run to steps. RDM cast's Elemental Seal + Gravity, PLD vokes and begins to kite it. With Gravity on it won't land hit's easily. 2nd voker stands in center and ranged attacks/vokes when needed.
RNG/RNG/SAM stand on steps and unload ranged attacks, RDM needs to keep Gravity on at *all* times and stay out of AoE range, run in cast, run back and heal PLD if needed or recover MP if possible.
Once NM is @ 40% health or lower, RNG's use Sharpshot > Barrage > Eagle Eye Shot. PLD then uses Invincible and stands still for the following. SAM in center Enpi's and 2HRs, meditate before final WS of 2HR, RNG: Piercing Arrow > Tachi: Enpi. 2nd SAM runs in and Enpi's + 2HR, meditate and 2nd RNG: Piercing Arrow > Tachi: Enpi.
Keep gravity at all times. My group failed due to poison wearing off with a AoE sleep an instant later getting most of us. 2nd SAM couldn't get 2HR off. We all died with the NM having 5-10% Health left. We used our 2HR's at 50%, I believe if we would have continued kiting and Ranging it to 40% we would have won with ease.
The first 1/2 of the fight, kiting and ranging it is very simple and easy. Pulling off the 2HR's and avoiding/preventing the AoE's is the tough part. Rare/Ex item isn't necessarily needed if you perform well, however if things get rough, it will help in that case. I hope to join you guys and kick *** and take some names. GL to all. Take care ^^
