Finding programs that are accessing HDDFollow

#1 Mar 26 2011 at 9:08 PM Rating: Good
I am trying to discover which programs that are "using" my portable hard drive so I can stop them, is there a program out there that will show me a list of programs that are read/writing to hard drives?

I thought it might be Adobe Bridge, but I was wrong.

I find sysinternals "Filemon" freeware utility to be the easiest method. This article has a few other tricks to try though if you like: http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/04/05/find-out-what-program-is-secretly-accessing-your-hard-disk-drive/

intersting read Kao, but the links to the utility are dead. I did a google on it and went to the developer's website and found it was removed there as well.

side note, you have css errors in tooltips.css lol
