POL Crashes when I try to start itFollow

I just got a new computer, and after installing POL and FF on it when I try to open the POL I get an error message that says something along the lines of. "The memory at <hexidecimal memory address> tried to write to the memory at <different hex add>. The memory could not be written. Click ok to close program"

I am completely at a loss, I have been playing for months on my Dell laptop without one problem, I just got a brand new Dell desktop. 3 ghz processor, 512 ram, 128 meg Nvida Geforce video. Windows XP. I tried unintalling and reinstalling POL. I disabled all the firewall and uninstalled the antivirus/internet security software from nortons that came preinstalled on there. Even without anything else running I am still getting this error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm inclined to ask if you've checked your RAM. Try going here to download a memory tester.

That's all I can think of off the top of my brain. But it's late and I'm probably missing something.

Are you missing any Windows updates?
