My friend installed FFXI on his PC last night and went through all the updates, etc. He finally got to the point where he was ready to play and this message popped up.
I looked at the FAQ and through the tech sup threads and didn't see this error. Does anyone know anything about this?

Is he using a router or a firewall? Sounds like a no connection error to me. Also, can you please post the system specifications?

Just heard back from him, and he spent some time with POL support...He has it fixed. His resolution was off somehow. He also has a 32 bit graphics card that he's going to swap for 64 to get better results.
My 1040 code I just posted about is a connection issue for sure. Ugh.
