Ya, as in who cares if he +1s that don't help druid skill lore or lulz.

A Maz +1 pwns a Jop +1 any day.

Stop trying so hard!

I spent the first ten years of my internet social life on a live chat where I got the 3rd highest rank for lines per minute. It was crazy stuff.

Now I have to hit Post Message every time instead of just Enter, and multi-posts get rated down. Smiley: frown

My thoughts exactly......

Getting my alts geared slowly - 9 of the 10 are over 4.5k GS now. I want them all to 5.5k by Cataclysm.

So that's why you're still a scholar eh?
#2510 Jun 14 2010 at 7:12 PM Rating: Good
Maz is still a scholar because he doesn't post enough in OoT ding threads.

I'm a scholar because bodhi couldn't resist the urge to bring the Asylumites over for a chat after he found out I'd changed my posting name.

Used to be Sage after getting rated up for making the old macro guides and whatnot. Then came along the Asylum and I went sub-d. Took me 5k posts of mediocrity to get back up to Scholar. 10k posts later and I got the default rating of 'Good'. I'm only 20k posts away from Sage again.

The upside is that the karma camper I have following me outside of the WoW forums is trying way too hard to do the impossible. Smiley: lol

Huh, you... change poster name?
I've only ever known you as Mazra and I've been here for a couple years now.

Mazra has been here at least 2 years longer than you.

I also changed my posting name at one point.

So what was your previous username? For Maz too btw.
And I know Mazra's been here longer than I have, it was more of a hey that must've been ages ago sort of statement.

I used the name Qaoz back then, but I tend to not dwell on it. Wasn't exactly the most popular guy over in the Asylum.

You know Varrus, right? Well, before Varrus, there was me.

Haha, legend.

You're lovely, though. Were you very difficult when you were younger?

Oh, and it's renkinja for me.

No, I just started out in the wrong forum and without enough understanding about how the things worked there. Originally, I came from the SWG forum and stumbled into the Asylum, looking for off-topic forums. The OOT forum was quite dead back then, so I stuck around in the Asylum, even after they burned me pretty bad. I wasn't used to the sarcastic behavior, so I was pretty quick to take the flame bait, which only increased the flaming, of course.

It all ended in a mess, with me ultimately asking an admin to delete my old username as I created Mazra and moved to the WoW forums. Later on, I had the same admin transfer my post count over to this username, but not until I had gained and lost Sage. I believe it was during the great +1 of the OOT, where certain people were spamming journals and ding threads, culminating in post penalties and karma rollbacks. Good times.

I had some, um, stability issues around that time as well. Personal loss that turned me quite emotional. In the end I sorted it out and became the boy wonder you know today. Smiley: waycool

Edit: Wish I could go back to the OOT, but there are too many new people, too many new puns and memes. The OOT has morphed something fierce since I started posting there. From the 'one post a week' dead forum to the 'three pages a day' +1/CJ mess, to the 'Asylum v2' it is now. The Asylum and the OOT has pretty much switched places, except the Asylum is now about politics more than anything.

I'm sure the WoW forums have changed as well, but it doesn't feel like it. Probably why I've stuck around.

Anyway, 4pT10 bonus... I hear it's good.

It is. Unfortunately I now pull aggro from everyone. Still, watching Rake do 7k critical ticks instead of just 3k hits is nice. Ramp-up time still sucks, though. Was doing a lolroic with an Arcane Mage (Oculus) and that guy did 11k DPS off the bat. Just Arcane Blast spam and he was across the finish line before I even had a chance to do Ferocious Bite. It's going to be fun trying out the bonus on Saurfang next week, though, if not Sunday.

Speaking of Rake, I read in the EJ Kitty thread that some people are actually considering dropping Rake from their priority list. The argument was that Shred did more damage per energy and it allowed them to open up the "rotation" much more, making it easier to keep Rip and SR up. Or something like that.

Dropping Rake from the list seems like a bit of a DPS loss to me, but I don't know. Just found it interesting as I'd never even considered it.

It's official, we're moving to 2-week lockouts on ICC.

We're finally come to the conclusion we've gotten as far as we can in the 2-3 hours we can spend a week in raid. Having less then an hour a week to work on progression hurts.

We did that last week. Got close on Sindy but no kill so started fresh this week. The group ended up being about a 50/50 split on people who had been past the first 4 bosses and was melee heavy.

So instead of doing Plague wing we did Val and BPC with some attempts on BQL. We once shot Val and 2 shot BPC but the group was sloppy on trash. We also lost a healer to marks and were fairly sloppy overall.

Still its nice to get some of the less geared raiders involved. See what they can do with minimal explanations and get a feel for who I will end up bringing when we start work on Sindy later in the week/next week.

Unfortunately, 1 night a week raiding will always be tough. We go twice a week, which allows us 1 night to get all the current content down and one night to work on progression. Having said that, we did extend our lockout a few times till we got Lich King down as we couldn't always guarantee our true A-Team for the 2nd night of raiding.

The sad thing is 3 hours is over the course of two days... Smiley: frown

In theory we have 2 days set aside for raiding. Each day we have about 2 hours between the time me and the Mrs can get the little one down for the night, and our guildies in Singapore have to pick their daughter from school. However this 2 hours quickly becomes an hour and a half when you start to add in things like:

-us being 10 minutes late because our daughter is still awake
-it taking a few minutes to PuG a member who doesn't show up (even if we have someone waiting on standby it still takes 5 min to get them there)
-us calling it a little early for reasons like "I have to leave in 15 minutes, so no use clearing the trash to the next boss"
-the weekly raid

Add in the last 2 weeks we've only gone 1 night because of server downtime, and guildies having other obligations. It takes us about an hour and a half to clear through the first 6-7 bosses (assuming we're doing the 'weekly' ICC quest as well.) Suddenly we've had about 2 hours of "progression time" in the last month...

I really do feel bad if blizzard is trying to balance the raiding end-game around people like us who are constantly at the mercy of our kids. On the other hand it sure is nice to have a "family-friendly" raiding group. Even if it means we're not raiding as much.

Hiyas. Sup?

I'm watching the world cup on the tiny screen on my computer since my daughter is busy zoning out at sesame street.

My premium seems to have expired as well...

I transferred my Warlock to alliance and took advantage of generous guildies to update have his gear, raided the GB for profession mats and the Stranglethorn pages, then called it a night.
