I have been WoWless the last few days due to logic board issues. I get my comp back next week.

Angry noises.

Drink yourself into a coma so the next few days will pass by quicker? Smiley: smile

Edit: @ Protein, are you talking about 10 or 25 man?

Saurfang goes much quicker once you get the fight down and get a little gear. You'll blink and miss the fight soon.

Eventually, even the mages will get tired of it.

I know the feeling.

Got into a heroic and the game went south. I tried logging on again only to realize that the connection was down. Turns out the router got fried and it took them seven days to get a new one installed. You'd think I'd be happy now that it's back up, but the thing is, they haven't opened port 1119 and 3724, so I might as well be offline for all it matters. Can run the Launcher and the update tool, but can't connect to any servers. Yay - not.

At least I can check my e-mail and such... oh, wait, nope, they didn't open those ports either.

Ah well, I shouldn't complain. I can hand in my essay that was due last week now. Gotta love the age of technology. One router goes down and everything turns to crap.

10

We're a small guild and only run 10s. Not to say some of us haven't pugged into a couple of 25s or anything (we're not a strict 10s guild), but I don't think anyone is wearing a piece of 25man gear atm.

Is the fight more exciting for 25s? Cause I gotta say at least patchwerk hit hard at the time...

Well here's to hoping boquaz is right and it starts going by faster. ;-)

Ah ok, then your rogue can probably still do a good 1-2k more dps, but it's decent. :)
For 25 man there should be numbers above 10k for all melee really.

And no, on 25 it isn't any more interesting, melee stand and loldps, range zerg adds.
Easy stuff, but the bosses behind it are more interesting, specifically Putrecide from what I've seen.

I love that girl.

Ms Horsemouth, would be the name and it is more than a few dollars.

As in you and Ms Aeth, i.e. Kalivha, could have a nice 2 week Euro vaca with the money.

No, Ms Horsemouth would be the girl that would fly to Europe, beat the sh*t out of you for saying that, fly home and get freaky with Mr Horsemouth, which is me, for saying such a thing.

I wouldn't let her on the plane.

History lessons tell us that vikings had a thing for aggressive women.

She is Hawaiian so she would make a canoe, sail it there, beat your ***, go home and make me dinner.

Assuming she can get past the longboats, I feel obligated to let you know, beforehand, that there are traces of berserker in my bloodline. Now you know.

I now have visions in my head of Maz tied up in the back of canoe, having been beaten senseless by a crazed woman with a rice paddle. How's your morning going? :p

Don't **** off a Hawaiian woman, they have ways to make you wish you were dead. ;-)

But Maz is a viking, and if he has berserker blood in him like he says he has then he's dangerous.
Like... stoned out of his mind, bare chested and wielding a giant two-handed axe dangerous.

Berserkers, once engaged in battle, would descend into a trance-like frenzy, attacking anyone and anything while being able to sustain lots of damage without succumbing to it. I'm guessing it was a mix of adrenaline, mushrooms and lots of mead that caused it. Something similar to what you see in modern days where people show superhuman strength and durability in accidents and stressful situations, not to mention when a crackhead takes a clip to the chest without falling over. Combine the two and add some broadaxes. Ah, yes, those were good times.

I must admit, I'm not sure if there's berserker blood in my veins, but considering I've got blood from all three Scandinavian viking nations, chances are there is. Although hopefully watered down.

I'm totally going to strangle our network administrator. I decided to bite the bullet and just go smoke him out. Found him lurking about on the floor above, so I asked him if he'd read my note I stuck on his door. Turns out he'd tried to call me on the internal phone system, which just had to ring during my bio break, so I was a little stressed when I answered it. Since the internal phone system is also the entry phone system, I figured it was just someone wanting in, so I hit the 'open' button and went back to the john. Well, he said that he'd opened up some of the ports I requested, but had leaved out the mail ports, so I guess I'll finally have to take the plunge to Gmail (good thing I don't keep an address book, because that sure would've made switching my email address a lot simpler, n'doh).

Anyway, he said he'd opened ports 1119 and 3724 which are the WoW ports needed to log on. Said I still couldn't log on and he said that some other dude playing LOTRO couldn't log on either. In the end he promised to look at the connection later on, so hopefully he'll find that he didn't open the right ports and open them up, because if he finds that he already opened the ports, I'm all out of ideas as to why I can't log on.

Going cold turkey in the middle of a random heroic is sort of like finding that you've just smoked your last cigarette, and you can't get your hands on more until the store opens, but you don't know when the store is going to open, because they're rebuilding the place. Unplanned cold turkeys just suck. I need my cyber-smack, dammit.

In case those two ports are opened already, any suggestions on what I could try? I get an 'Unable to connect. Please try again later or click this link which leads to a blank page' error when I try to log on, so I'm guessing it can't ping the logon server. I've tried resetting my network card and flushing DNS, not that I have any idea what the hell I'm doing. I'm just clicking buttons until stuff lights up here.

Mazra, my friend!

I don't have help, but I have a rant of my own.

Or three.

Firstly, my coursework is due tomorrow and since I'm tired and in a LOT of pain and my teacher didn't bother to look over my draft till this morning, I'd have to pull an all nighter which I will not do (my immune system doesn't like that idea) or hand it in late. So I'll hand it in late. After promising my personal tutor that I will do everything on time and have 100% attendance from now on in order to get into the Further Maths course next year (which effectively will be a free A but has a 95% attendance policy). I'm sure it will be okay, somehow. I'm gonna drop the subject anyway, it's more work than the other 7 courses combined and I still don't get A's.

Then I went to see my doctor today, she is gonna refer me to a shrink but predicted that the nearest specialist for adult ADD is in London, and a train ticket to London comes at £35 or more. Great. I'm not sure I want to pay that much to get my Ritalin fix when I get A's in college anyway.
I mentioned to said doctor that I've had some lady problems lately, with the result of her poking my spleen (NO ONE POKES MY SPLEEN, EVER), me crying out in agony and her ordering a few tests to check it out because spleens apparently don't normally hurt when poked. At least my liver didn't hurt all that much when she poked that, which is rare.
My lady problems still aren't solved. She said I should come back if they haven't gone away next week. At least she ordered some hormone tests, as well. As if I don't know my hormone levels are near constantly off.

Actually Maz, I seem to recall that in a network ages ago, I had to manually open a large number of ports to be able to log onto WoW. It's somewhere on Blizzard's site.

And aaw, being called Ms Aethien. How nice. Smiley: blush

You mentioned lady problems and Maz in the same post. That's just not cool.

As for opening ports, yes, I believe that's the issues as well, but I need our network admin to do it because the server is locked up. And he's been less that cooperative on that point.

Perhaps a head full of mushrooms, mead and a broad axe would help encourage him to fix it?

The problem with being a viking here is that everyone else share the same lineage. I'd whip out the mushrooms and he'd be equipping his bear pelt already. I start throwing around sharp stuff and he'll be in my face with his dual hammers. And I'm not talking about hammers. I mean hammers.

I'm going to let this one slide, Aeth, because I called you a girl in that other thread.

Also, I'm going to ******* defenestrate that admin guy in a moment. Still can't log on and he's had almost 24 hours to look at the issue. Death by gravity. Seriously.
