DAoC Community???Follow

i recently decided to take a much needed break from everquest. i left my guild leadership in my hands of my trusted officers and have taken a bit of a sabbatical on another game. i decided on DAoC after wandering over here from eq alla and reading the posts, i recently started on percival and have attained level 6, i have one question, where is the community that was supposed to be around? i have met two people the entire time on the game, one stopped talking to me once he found out i didn't play more than like 12 hours a day and the other flamed me for being a new player. while the game play and setting are great (i'm majoring in medieval history so its fun to see some of the myth in practice) it's very disheartening to a noobie to be yelled at for being new, and unable to find a guild or group in the week and a half i've been playing. and i know its not a long time but still, people just literally ignore you if you're not over 30, i have asked questions on the alliance channel and i have not yet had one answered, and i don't believe them to be stupid questions as i do have mmorpg xp. i just mean, whats up with this? ok sorry to rant, i don't want to sound like i'm flaming or bashing. any insight or anything would be cool, am i just unlucky? am i doin somethin wrong?

I'm sorry your experience on Percival left a bad taste. I've been playing there since mid-February (now a level 33 Enchanter) and have met mostly nice people. There have been a few rude people, loose cannons and just plain jerks, but they were outnumbered by the genuinely friendly and helpful ones. Just like real life! :)

Not too long ago, DAOC instituted the practice of putting each new character in a guild and the newbie guilds in an alliance. This was supposed to act as a place where new players get help, etc. However, seasoned players usually quit the guild as soon as they bring their new character online, even if they are trying out a new server. What you need to do is try to join a player run server as soon as possible. People will be more friendly there.

Also, if you are on a low population server, you might want to move to one with more players.

Hey bro, come to Iseult Midgard and I'll see if I can get you an invite into my guild or maybe I'll just invite you myself. :-) From my experience Iseult has the perfect population with nice people on it.
