Can DAoC be played on dialup?Follow

I'm a present EQ player and am able to play on dialup, although experience frequent LD's (link dead) requiring a wait of 3 to 20 minutes before getting back in. Can I play DAoC on dialup and is it relatively stable? I'm using my wife's Dell XPS, 2.88 ghz P4, 1 gb ram, Radeon 9800 pro, 200 gb hd. My presonal machine is similar, 2.4gz 1gb ram, 400 gb hd space, GeForce 5200 FX, but will be upgrading to Radeon 9800 XT soon.
Considering getting ISDN since broadband not available here and doesn't look to be for a while yet. Comcast sitting on their butts and taking their sweet time implementing in this area.
All the reviews I've read on this game indicate that in many ways it is better than EQ..I'd like to find out. Thanks in advance for your help.

(If you also play EQ, look me up on Stromm, Damaeb, 19th level paladin.)

From my experience, ive heard that dial-up is playable. I have comcast and they are good. When they moved in my area the internet went down alot though and wasnt that stable. But now its great. With your computer i think DAoC will run perfect. Geforce FX 5200's are great but most of the people that i know that have gotten it, have crashed on DAoC with that card. Including me. Otherwise i think you'll be fine.

Dial-Up is do-able. The only bad part is, is the updates...on dial-up it'll take FOREVER to update the game...but as for the playability...it's good if not great =)

Mine ran fine on dialup when I had to go on the road past few months (Luckily I downloaded from cable before having to head out).

Tril, on the FX 5200, there are some issues with that card. I found that most have a fix from the manufacturer of the card (not NVidia themselves), on some (PNY I believe) there is actually a download patch specifically made for DAoC. Had a friend with difficulties and it seemed to resolve them.

I played DAoC on dialup for several days while my DSL was 'between providers'. It took longer to load initially and change zones, but otherwise it was just the same as on broadband.
