I am new to DAoC. I am trying to create a keen enchanter. When i create my character I get the path quest first thing. When it is time to visit the enchanter trainer for the essence path I get the message that my character is not acceptable for enchanter. I understood that keen and elf were acceptable. Is there some other requirement I am missing or is it a bug with the enchanter trainer. Don't want to waste the effort to get tl lvl 5 only to discover I can't choose enchanter.

'Keens can be Enchanter's, they start out The Way of Magic path. So only things I can think of is:
1) The NPC might be bugged as you suggested and will need to /appeal in game.
2) You may need to see your initial trainer first (the guy you saw 1-4) before visiting the Enchanter trainer (odd I know but may be what is going on.)
3) If it is the Enchanter trainer in ToA they are not set up for class "induction" (from a Grab Bag a while back) and you'll need to visit an Enchanter trainer in SI (Grove of Domann) or the old world (Tir na Nog).
4) You may have accidently started your 'Keen in the wrong path on start up. Unlikely, but possible, and if so you'll need to start over.
Those are the only scenero's I can come up with, hopefully you may find your answer in one of them. Or maybe someone else can provide another idea or two on what may be going on.

I have started over 4 times now. I only have the classic game installed so not a SI/TOA problem. I hope it is just a bug and when I get to 5 I can enter class anyway. I visited Anwar (induction trainer) already and he says the same thing.

Thought I would report back. When I got to level 5 the local enchanter trainer that had told me I was not suited for the profession trained me as an enchanter with no problems so the problem is a NPC bug only.
