Armsman or MercenaryFollow

I do not know what one to pick. Please no arguments i just want to know generally what people beleive is the best. I quite like the idea of armsman in full plate dishing damage and am probably leaning toward that, how good are mercenaries and all in all what do you people think is better?

Hi. Nowdays people prefer mercs for rvr cause they are fast killers. Mercs are fast in addition to arms. Arms are great dmg dealers in addition to mercs. Mercs have DT,flurry and charge (abilities of the merc that dont need rps to get) that help a lot in soloing. As a merc I can solo 2 sts(melee) and get 1 with (if I DT them both) before dieing. But.. as a merc u must decide if u gonna be a group type merc or a soloer type. You must distribute your RA's with a different way. Dont know much about arms cause i dont like it as a class. So I would say arms.

(NOTE: a friend that has lvled an arms said to me that he should have lvled a merc cause he doesnt get many rvr grp opportunitites with this char)

i'd say if you want to go solo then go merc, but to go group would be arms

To answer the dueling question, it all depends on the spec. If it's a crush merc vs a s/s arms then the merc would win. but a slash spec merc vs s/s or polearm arms, well I haven't seen a duel like that but I'd think it would be closer then the crush vs s/s duel. Since from the duel wielding that a merc has gets an auto bonus to hit against a shield user, and plate armor is weak to crush the merc would rip appart the arms if they know how to play.

And after playing as a pally for over a year I personally lean more to playing a merc just for the fact that I'm tired of playing something with defence and wana do a heck of alot of damage and just realy on a cleric to keep me alive
