Yeah, nothing like spending the ENTIRE day running your barb shaman from halas to lake of ill omen, only to get killed by one of those damn spider things and have to start all over to get your corpse back. Now, I have to bind myself in PoK so that when I die, I can summon my corpse and find a rezz in 2.5 seconds. Damn it. I want to go on a corpse run every now and then.

It also sucks that newbies now have a tutorial area so they actually have some clue by the time they are ready to leave. Not to mention the newbie armor that gives bonuses to stats. I didn't have one bit of fun hunting down all the stuff to make that armor, and I didn't feel ANY satisfaction what-so-ever when I finally completed every piece.

More content also sucks. I hate having countless options. Not to mention the shared bank SUCKS. I miss handing someone all of my money and crossing my fingers and praying they will be honest and give it all back to me when I log my second toon. And having twice as many bank slots REALLY sucks. Like I need more room for this crap.

PoK is CRAP! I hate being able to find everything I am looking for in one convient place. ***** being able to teleport nearly anywhere in the world from one central place. I want to run, damn it! Also makes grouping impossible.

Stupid bazaar. I hate having all those items that vendors don't sell located in one place 24-7. Why can't eveyone go back to hanging out in the tunnel. I really miss all the spam.

The compass really sucks. I hate knowing what direction I am headed in. And that stupid find feature. You mean I can't spend 3 hours searching for that one particualar vendor?

Oh, and don't even get me started on DoD. You mean I can group with anyone I want now? WTF? I hate options. Yeah, Sony really screwed things up.

[/sarcasm]

Posts like this seem really weird to me. People always talking about an "old world" server. WHY? Why in the hell would you want to play the "old" Everquest? There are so many more options now.

I honestly think what most miss and in a way I do too is everyone starting out with no money and no gear where you are basically forced to group with players to survive. Not that they last long but new servers with no transfers in and everyone is a level 1 are fun.

They only thing I ever thought they did to hurt the game was create more bottlenecks. When eq first came out it was nothing to have a ranger tank, and not have to worry about having a slower. However as the game progressed mobs have gotten harder and harder for there level. Next thing you know mobs hit so hard that you are required to have a slower (prefer enchanter cause if you get 1 add it can now wipe your group). Forget about having the ranger tank, that idea is absurb now. In fact now in many cases you can be a lvl 70 warrior and not be able to tank a pick up group because you don't have 200 AA's or raid quality gear (So much for the days of not judgeing a person by there gear). With the new DOD zones I am hearing of several people talking about needing 2 healers in there groups because of the insane damage mobs are hitting for. Im not saying I think a lvl 70 mob should hit for 100damage. I am saying lvl 50 mobs shouldn't be hitting for 250ish and doing 850dd procs every 4 seconds and have 10X more hp then a old world mob. I can go solo a kunark/velious mob that is lvl 55 about as easy as I can take a lvl 40ish OOW mob.

It is no fun standing around in a group of 4 people unable to really do anything because you can't find a raid geared tank, or you can't get any slowers, etc etc.

both valid posts and points... I also get nostalgic but then I remember what a pain it was to run from say FP to Queynos too. I will say for I am not fond of the death of the newbie towns most "newbies" dont even know where they are.

Hmmm going back to the old days of orc camps sounds fun. It would take a detox clinic to get used to the gear again. I tried to start an orc group one day for old times sake with a toon i had just created but no one wanted to come. like at level 8 an xp bonus really matters.
