Good morn,

Sony saw fit to basically water down almost all of its classes when they created the game in my opinion. Virtually any other game with Druids, Paladins, Clerecs, and a few others (including pet classes) would not only out fight a character in EQ... but look good doing it. Now, this also takes into account that these other games are NOT EQ, but, other games at least realize that certain classes do what they are supposed to do... take Diablo or, better yet, Baldur's Gate, for instance. Its characters are not only well rounded, but are kick *** when it comes to abilities.

No, I am not trying to bash EQ... far from it. EQ is one of the best games that I have ever played, and I truly enjoy it, but, the classes need to be uprated to what they *should* be, not the watered down versions of what they are.

Just my opinion.

Personally, I think you have it backwards. EQ has the classes as they should be. Its the other games that have watered things down. Having several classes with well rounded abilities means you dont need to group, or can just throw anything together.

Part of EQ is that grouping with a good balance of classes is neccesary.

I have always thought rangers didn't seem right till they hit higher levels. I always think of rangers as the Bow experts, but in eq it seems like there bow skills are not much better then any other melee class till they get into 50+. Basically in a group situation rangers are better off just meleeing until higher levels (IMO of course).
