Getting to this zone is a long haul but I highly recommend it to anyone who has an enduring breath item or spell/song.

It's not to difficult at level 52 but I did venture a bit far and found a room full of Seasnakes. I stayed back in the little hall but apparently they have a large aggro. One Seahorse started moving around apparently "buffing" other horses and then all at once, they came after me and my pet. I didn't last long and bit the dust.

Stay away from the water maidens. I pulled one to a safe spot and she proceeded to chew my pet to pieces. I managed to take her down but she made fish food put of my fully mage toyed pet.

The sharks are cool and there are a few named pops that I saw without having to venture to far into this zone.

Overall a great zone that a small group of level 50 characters could own all by themselves with proper crowd control.

Been going to Kedge alot lately helping Guildies get their Epic 1.0's. The zone itself is a fun place as long as you like mazes.

The only thing about Kedge I hate is any mob that hits you knocks you back disrupting your casting. So my advice to casters is plant yourself with your back to the wall, this helps alot.

I have been here a few times, in my career.

First experience ever was a pseudo guild raid for Phinny (who wasn't up) and a ground spawn in Phinny's lair for a Paladin spell drop. We got the ground spawn, and got out...no deaths, but man, the group got split up a hundred times.

The other times were to get the Corrupted Seahorse to spawn, as it was the last piece needed for my Nature Walker's Scimitar. 3 days of camping, and one massive summon after another, I was one happy druid.

Once you get used to the whole 3 dimensions of the place, it's actually kind of a cool hunting ground. However, I have no real desire to return there anytime in the near future... :-)

Kedge is a great zone. It's quite an adventure to crawl through it. I really like the looks and atmosphere of it, too ... all the sea life, shells, etc.

Being MT under the water is tough. It's ideal when you can find an object or ledge to fight on so you can't sink. Otherwise, keeping pointed at fishes when you sink faster than them is challenging. Usually I look down at the con circle for the whole fight to keep lined up until I sink far enough that I'm too far away to land a hit, then I swim up. Even then, sometimes the con circle is too far away to be of use.

LOL long haul?? Hmm POK - Butcherblock - Dagnaur cauldron - Kedge. Guess you didn't play back in the days when people had no pok? Was nothing in a night to run from Freeport to Lower Guk then back to Solusek B trying to get a group.

Yea it is a neat zone. Very easy to get lost though.

I remember when the Luclin Spires first came out. "Woot! You mean I only have to wait a Max fo 15 Mins to get a port...That's Awesome!"

I still won't Smiley: grin

I need to get corrupted seahorse myself. After trying to fight a regular seahorse (solo) who kept healing itself, I gave up. Can druids solo this mob or the tainted even? My tactic now would probably be to charm something (like a few guildies...).

If possible keep lev or dead man floating on ya while underwater....that will help from sinking so fast. Aye MT'ing underwater sucks especially if you're a Knight and have to use spells to maintain aggro.

I can't even imagine what EQ was like without POP. I started playing eq just before it came out and never ventured far from my hometown of Halas.

I think I ran from Halas to a teleportation ring in the Karanas. I wanted to check out the brand new bazaar. I made it to the ring but got bum-rushed by a guard. I was so mad. It took me 30 minutes to make the trip and I learned what KOS finally meant. I don't think I ever went back and got my level 10 corpse. I think I just let it rot. Didn't have anything good on it anyway.

Guess I just have a short term attention span... But as a casual gamer I could not spend hours just running to a certain zone. Not complaining one bit but I love POK.

I'd love to visit this zone, especially before I ding 52 and can honestly have a challenge from Phinny.

I think that this zone is possibly the coolest zone out there, or at least the most original.

I hear that the charm tactic can work on the mob, but in my case, I had 2 friends who were helping me, and I was just dotting and nuking. The hard part about soloing this room would be keeping it clear of mobs. I think there is like a 7 minute timer before the room starts to re-pop, but I think unless you were high fifties, low 60's, you would probably have some difficulty. Remember, the corrupted can summon, and is capable of CHing himself.

God, that battle was long, and I thought all 3 of us were going to get creamed...ahh, the memories...

61 druid now.

Corrupted Seafury Cyclops was the toughest (solo) but went down fairly quickly. I think I was level 58 or 59 for that fight.

Probably drag some help for this one.

You cannot solo this zone at level 52. You may be able to get pretty far like I did by pacifying and single pulling mobs. Pop rate is a bit too fast for me to go farther though. A small group of 3 peeps @ level 52 could work if they knew what they are doing.

What I meant was a raid force, but ok. I pretty much can't solo anywhere anymore anyways.

edit: whoa, thats a tongue twister for ya...
