Last night in UP the BL in our grp went LD. A few mins later I notice I am under attack. I spin in a circle and see nothing. Then I look down and see the LD BST's pet trying to chew off my leg. I watched for a min as I never have heard of this one before. I zone out and back in and the warder camped me at the ZL and resumed the attack when I zoned back in.

What would cause this on a PVE server?

This is a bug with BLs thought it had been taken care of but when a BL goes LD his pet turns into an NPC sometimes it will agro on the nearest PC sometimes it will just stand there with a bewildered look on its face.

I used to have alot of LD issues while playing my BST (due a router conflict). I mean, I went LD a LOT... There were many times my group would tell me that my pet would continue to melee the mob even if I had gone LD (which was kinda cool, at least I was still providing _some_ DPS...).

However, no one ever mentioned my pet going rabid and attacking a player while I was gone, and we're talking a sample size of 5-15 LDs a day for a period of about six weeks.

If it's a known bug, it must be a very uncommon one.

On the plus side, that problem has thankfully been fixed and I haven't gone LD in months! (/em knocks on wood)

I don't know if it is race specific maybe the times I have seen it was with an Oger BL with the Bear warder. Never had a problem with a Troll BL. I used to bring some raw meat to feed the warders when I was grouping with them.

As far as I know it can happen to anybody with a pet. I know it can happen to necros also at least, albeit it's a pretty rare occurence for anyone. I thought it had something to do with the pet getting mezzed or charmed and forgetting who it's master was when it woke, becoming a normal NPC, but I could be wrong. It's been a long time since I've seen this one mentioned.

I had it happen to me once with my mage. I was in the Gorge off of Runnyeye with my mage when I was charmed by one of the evil eyes. When charm broke, my pet attacked me. I high-tailed it to the zoneline, but when I zoned back in my pet came after me again. This was way back when pets didn't zone with you so I'm surprised he didn't poof when I zoned. I had to camp to get rid of him. That was the only time Jabober ever turned on me.

I have my pets attack me all the time.

Of course, I'm a druid with a sub-standard cha, and I am referring to charmed pets. :-)

My summoned Cubby never turned on me though, that is why he is a good little Cubby.

Usually, in my XP, if the owner of a pet goes LD, the pet just kinda looks around and wonders what happened....never seen one actually turn against their master.

I have had it happen before too. I am not sure what causes it, but occasioanlly when players go LD, the pet becomes a normal NPC. We were in the Sarnak fort when our mage went LD and I used an AE mez that got its attention. You can imagine my confusion when Mez wore off and I had our mages pet attacking me. We had to kill the thing to resolve the issue.

Of course, this was years ago when Lake of Ill Omen was THE place to be in your teens, I thoguht it had been fixed since then, thoguh obviously not.

I couldn't, the buttons were grayed out as if I didn't have a pet. It was very strange.

Speaking of the AE mez I wounder if an AE is going off at the time or shortly after LD could be the cause of it.

Baron, this is news to me (mainly because I didn't charm very much until recently, and I hardly EVER check out Sony's official EQ forums - I like Alla's way more.)

So, what does affect it? Can I get some linkage? I'd love to know this.
