Find something that you want to play and stick with it... You need to figure what style of playing suites you... Do you want to tank, damage, cast spells, heal, etc.. You can ask about the types of things you would like out of a character and post, but the above post doesn't have enough informaiton.

I have the same condition and its called "alt-itis". Best thing to solve this is to go on the test server and mess with each race/class combo..typing in /testbuff will raise whatever character you have made to level 25 so you have a feel of what each class has to offer.

I like that term...

Well, one way to combat "alt-itis" would be to commit. Pick a Toon you like the best and outfit him with Attunable gear. That may help...with the thought of Geez, cant switch the gear so I'll play him/her.

I don't get it. You have a problem? Oh you need more character slots, I get it...me too. Smiley: wink

(61 druid, 55 cleric, 53 monk, 49 enchanter, 43 paladin, 38 shaman, 36 shadowknight, 32 rogue, 29 beastlord, etc...yes two accounts...)

Here's my list: 59 Wiz, 55 Paly, 43 Ranger, 35 BL, 19 Druid, 15 Shammy, and a couple others that don't see past the character select screen.

Decide which toon you want to be your "main" and try and use it for your main playtimes. At times any class gets difficult or boring, or perhaps you are crunched for time, etc........that's when the alts come in handy.

Mostly just try and have fun. Smiley: grin

I have a friend that has all of the toon slots fulls and random rolls which toon will be played each session. Most of his toons are 60+. I would think eventually you will settle on one that suits your playstyle and objectives in the game will help narrow which toon or toons you will concentrate on. The test server ida is a very good one to see if a class suits your playstyle. Level 1 anything can't do much other than smack city trash around and test server will allow you to play a class with some abilities and spells.

My sister got me playing EQ a few years ago. I noticed she seemed to always like to play different toons & on different servers too. I think she had about 15 toons altogether. Problem with that is she never really got any toons much over level 50. A few months ago she lost interest & started playing WoW & EQ2 & closed her EQ1 account. She would tell me she got bored with EQ1. Anyway..I play just the 3 toons you see on the bottom of this post & I think my playing experience is better for it. I think I am getting more out of EQ by playing just a few toons into the high levels with AA's & the whole upper level experience. If you play too many toons..it will be hard to get to the end game anytime soon.

i used to make alts like mad and flip around all over the place playing them all. but then i decided to stick with one so i could get to the higher end of the game and have a powerful toon so i dumped all my focus into my one character. once he hit lvl 70 i moved my boxed toon up the ladder with me now i have a good combo =) id say pick one and dominate with him/her , just ride it out =)

I thought it was called "alt-oholic".. O,o

I dont know why but I could never consider rerolling.. I am Bumbi the wizard and trying to be something else would just feel wrong to me..

Also, since I think the best part of this game is raiding I couldnt stand not being capped in lvl. And even if you dont like raiding being lvl 70 is where most fun is. At lvl 70 you will have more new zones with better gfx / loot to choose from and you will also have easier to find groups and friends since the biggest playerbase portion is lvl 65+..

Do the /testbuff and find a class you like and level it up to 70.. Once you are there you will have the feeling you have put in to many manhours to ever abandon that char again ;)

Myself, I get bored with one toon, so I have a variety. The main ones I like to play is 66 chanty, 61 druid, 59 necro and 57 war. If you want end game then it would be best to choice just one and ride it. Myself I am not worried about end game, I just like to play.

wat sever is the test server?
#13 Sep 17 2005 at 3:55 PM Rating: Decent
Look in your eq folder...should be a file named eqtest.exeor something like that...that's the test server.

The best answer is...The test server is The Test Server...
