Is it possible to make a hotkey to do the following, assuming you are currently fighting a mob and have it targeted?

Change target to self
Cast favorite heal spell
Change target to original mob

If so, how do you do it?

I don't know how to retarget the mob but I use:
/Target Balmey
/pause 3
/Cast 1

This targets my character, short pause to get target aquired, and casts the spell in my first slot. To reaquire the target I click on it.

Doesn't Tab switch to previos target? If so could you add a /tab command to retarget yourself?

Didn't they change the 'previous target' key a few patches ago? I thought it was tilde (`) now, or something. Just check your key bindings to find out what function Tab or tilde are, and add that.

Tab still toggles between you and the last thing you had targeted. I think they added another key (don't remember what it defaults to though, could be ~), that toggles between whatever you currently have targeted and the last NPC. Handy for folks who want to be able to move back and forth between themselves, their pet (or tank) and the mob they are fighting. That's just kinda foggy memory of patch messages though. I've been too lazy to actually look it up and use it. I imagine it would be handy though...

As far as a key for combat healing, I think the one listed above would work fine. Honestly though, by "combat healing", I thought you were talking about a hotkey to heal someone else, not yourself. I've never really seen much need to make a special key for healing myself in a combat situation. I suppose it would be handy, but hotkey banks get crowded, and I usually find there are other things I'd rather have.

With my pally, I have my autoattack set to the "1" key. This is convenient since it's right next to the tab key. I just kinda roll my finger from 1 to tab, then click on my HoT spell gem. Then I reverse the motion, hitting tab then 1 to resume fighting the mob. Sometimes I start that out by casting a stun first to make interruptions occur less often.

Since I'm a pally (and I think most hybrids are the same), I spend a lot of time clicking spell gems to cast (or using the alt-# if I'm laggy). There's just no way I could have enough keys to hotkey all the different combos of stun casting that I need to do when fighting. By getting really used to casting spells directly during combat, it's just not that much of a problem to cast my heals the same way.

I just think that unless you need spells timed in a very specific way, with messages (like when doing a CH chain), there is little or no reason to make hotkeys for spells. YMMV of course...

you can "/assist nameOfTheRogue" to get the target back. Or assist somebody in group who is very unlikely to switch target during battle. just an alternative, the target tragglor works better.
