Tame & INT

+INT does not effect Tame. Nor does any other AF effect enhanced abilities with other random +stats on it. They are all meant to even out the jobs and provide stat boosts in which that job can't find much of in there equipment.

The only good I see the INT part doing is strengthening resistance to black magic as your INT vs. enemy INT is what decides that. Please... please... stop insinuating that just because a stat is added on AF that it effects another trait of that equipment. Because it doesn't, fact. This goes for all jobs.

Stats given by artifact are given for a reason. In this case, Wide Scan.
Please check your opinions before posting.

The INT boost is for Tame. The skill Tame is based on your INT. So the +5 ITN increases "Tame" success rate.

Actually you *do* "need a quest for it"... in that you have to have at least started "Boghertz' Wild Hands" in order for the coffer to yield this item.

And it's a Coffer, not a Chest... and you must be BST while opening the Coffer as well.

edit: for spelling due to not bein' awake enough to spell properly LoL

Actually, you only need to start the AF2 boots quest to get coffer AF, you don't need to start the gloves quest.

Every job has random, seemingly useless attribute boosts on some of their AF. For example thief gets +5 Int on their hat and black mage gets Agl and Chr boosts on some of thier stuff.

That stuff isn't useless just takes some research to see why it's there. INT in this case is "Tame" ability is based on. For thf INT/DEX is for picking chests and coffers. For BLM your magic acc is based on AGI as well as some eva. CHR helps with prevent monster from resisting magic attacks with blm as well(Heard chr might help with some job ability traits kicking in more often like conserve mp). They don't just put useless stuff on your AF it's all there for a reason.

You fail. How someone could have so many lvls and be so completely wrong is beyond me, but you somehow managed it.

1. Int affects proctoring on status bolts and elemental arrows. It in no way affects tame or in rng's case rapid shot activation.

2. Agi does not affect magic acc. Int does. Agi affects evasion and Ranged att/acc.

Quit FFXI. you'll be doing your server a favor when you do. How you came to the conclusion that magic acc is affected by your own eva, is beyond anyones imagination but your own i guess. Eva affects... EVASION. Duhr.

Chr does not effect magical resistance. I can see how someone can make that generalization, but its wrong. Chr effects resistance of brd songs and charm success rate on bst. Also for bst it affects killer effects. Which is why some pld's will wear dragon killer effect swords and load up on chr. Being able to paralyze the mob often for the duration of the fight is a powerful way to tank. Which is why you see pld cursed gear with such high lvls of chr.

Thought i would throw this in because people still want to think that Chr somehow affects enmity.

Charisma (CHR) does not affect a Paladin's Provoke or Enmity. It has nothing to do with either.

Please stop and think deeper before you jump onto these strange bandwagons of ideas.

i believe int helps resist magic spells, beastmasters get several version of the job trait resist slow, possibly this enhances that, or possibly it just helps resist other spells cast upon you by mobs.

i believe the int boost was intended more for defensive purposes than offensive purposes.

ever notice if you've played blm that mobs that use magic are often very resistant to it as well, maybe it's the same concept.

Because most BST's use a WHM or a RDM as there sub.
