Fabled mobs have to be the most annoying thing in the game when it comes down to epics, Trying to get the Pawbuster only to find this rat EVERY respawn cycle, once I even saw two. Which I HOPE was a bug, because if not... Sony is just too cruel.
Looks like he's fabled again this year (no surprise), but I do think they gave him a bit more than 83k hp this year (I might be wrong though since I did not parse the fight).
I just returned to EQ after a 4 1/2 year absence, so this was my first year messing with the fableds. I knew they were up, and had even killed a couple, but I did not know that THIS mob was popping as a fabled version.
I had my 66 mage camping him for my bard's epic, while my bard was out running around collecting other pieces. After clearing the room one time (all warlords) I saw the warlord pop on my mage's screen. I just saw "warlord" so I targeted him and hit pet attack before noticing he was red. As soon as I put 2+2 together I took the mage's cleric out of passive mode and set her to reactive and tried to burn him down.
I almost soloed him, but the cleric was about to go oom when I had the warlord at 20%, so I gated. I think I could have taken him without adds. Unfortunately a few repops were beating on me (which was no problem) and my cleric merc kept wasting mana healing me.
I ran back with the 66 bard and his tank merc and I duo'd him no problem.
I would put his hp at more like 150-200k (judging by the amount of movement the mage nukes were causing to his health bar), but I did not parse it so I might be wrong.
Max hit on the 66 bard on the pull was 1050ish. Max hit on the merc tank was 1122.
Overall a very easy kill.
Edit: He dropped the fabled armband, the regular armband, and the bard's epic piece (the skull).
70 pal, clr, brd. pally was 13k, 2.6k, Qvic geared. Short+ easy fight, bard slowed here and there but could hardly notice the diference. Duo woulda been np.
Majority of hits were minimum and ENRAGE was a joke. Some mob healed him at the end, try to get him away from the shammies.
Found him accidentally while helping a friend on the bard epic. Group was 75 beast (me, ~400AA, baz gear), 72 cleric (~250AA, baz gear) and 56 bard. Room was full spawn with the non-fabled version on the back wall - we didnt see the fabled hiding in the corner.
Sent pet in on the non-fabled thinking in and done .. nope, mass chaos ensued with the all the body guards jumpin the cleric while i took the control of the room. Left pet on the warlord while I slowed everyone. Bard died fairly quick trying to mez i think. We just worked on the grays, one at a time until only fabled left. Used all discs, infusion and servant - little overboard but cleric started fight at ~45% mana, went oom at ~25 on the fabled, and i was out of healing pots. I lasted long enough for her to med one more CH - all it took! All mobs dead, friend's epic loot dropped and the cleric got a shiny new wrist. Max hit on me was 1508, mostly missed, average was 300ish i think.
Well spent 12 hours straight camping this guy, so spawn timers r out the window, with no show. Next day popped 4 times back to back. Can spawn in any of the 4 spawn spots as him and 2 normal warlords were waiting for me when i zoned in. Just need to watch his enrage, his also slowable. Excellent armband for your healers n casters.
He has popped when I was clearing out the zone (including the drovlarg room in the right corner of the room and this has been his only spawn point. The Drolvarg Captain in the dog tower can spawn in multiple spots on the second floor in the tower.
Hope this helps and YES he does hit for max 1400 and I have two boxed him with my character 70 warrior and 70 cleric.. long fight but doable.. and he drops a nice weapon.
The major drop in this zone that is getting the most attention drops off this warlord and the skeletal (Fabled Tranquil Staff) and since the FSW has a good chance of spawning in 3 known places I have seen 11 (Fabled Tranquil Staff's) drop...
