note that it only affect Elemental Magic , not Dark or Divine etc etc , so this will not affect spells like Sleep , Banish , BIO and so on .
(i know it's somehow obvious but i see ppl wearing this while casting Dark magic During Dark day)
WTF

Elemental magic affected by day means equip these pants on iceday, cast ice spell = increased damage, same with Thunder on lightningsday, whats with all this discussion over a simple *** topic. I just got them yesterday, tried em on iceday and lightningsday shortly after, I can asure you these are the best pants for BLM on the appropriate day. When its not iceday or lightningsday, Errant/Mahatma legs > all.

This + one of the new belts that gives the effect of the day seems like a pretty awesome combo.

Unfortunately the belts don't give the effect of the day if it isn't the day. They ensure the effect of the day ALWAYS kicks in. It still has to actually BE that day, though.

Nevertheless, you're still right that these pants + the correct belt for the day = KICKASS.

I can confirm that these pants add a very nice magic attack bonus if the corresponding elemental magic is used.

I watched a friend test these on Lightningday. With errant slops his thundaga III did 1534 dmg. With the AF2 pants on it did 1724 on the same mob...so yeah, I think they do add a nice little magic attack bonus on the elemental day.
int+3

lordwafik, i'm surprised that when you put the af2 pants on..you wouldnt do more damage than your af1 considering they have +3 int <.<
Wrong days??
# Jan 17 2005 at 12:12 AM Rating: Default
Wouldn't the spells best used be on the day the element is strong on. I know this may sound confusing but I would think it would have an effect if you use an element which is strong to the current day. IE if it is Iceday use your fire spells since fire is strong to ice...
Just thinking and could be entirely wrong... long way to go befroe I can really test this out too...

You dont feed a fire Icebues, and you dont blow on your icecream to freeze it.

The day though some elements are strong to the day, gain nothing from it.

His post didn't say feed ice cubes to put out a fire - his post actually said the opposite. By your ice cube analogy he was speaking of using Fire to melt the ice cubes.

I just got these, I tested it on Iceday,

BlizI with pants doing 189, BlizI with AF1 pants doing 189...

Then i worked up the bliz chain, i saw no difference in my Damage output on the ice sspells on iceday. If i'm to judge it by my one test on iceday, i'd say they dont effect damage, only resistance. But i'd rather take my test further.

They're actually muuuuuuuuuch better looking than those horrible Errant pants, as soon as i got these the errant went straight back to the AH.
Magic attack bonus +6

During the weekday matching your elemental magic, these pants seem to have the hidden effect of about Magic attack bonus +6. This can be confirmed by noting that when casting spells of the element of the week, you do your usual damage with these pants on but taking off a moldavite piece and INT+1 or 2 depending on the series level of the magic spell.

I cannot determine whether these pants affect elemental resistance (not enough testing). The post below where Thunder IV did 200'ish more damage is an observation that on the day of the element casted, you also get a chance to do 15% bonus damage. The same is true of weather. I was unable to notice any difference in the chance of those +15% bonuses to kick in, but this was over about 25 tries. Those bonuses do stack on top of all the magic bonuses and +INT.

Thunder IV was doing about 200 more damage on Lightningsday, but it seemed like Ice IV was doing normal damage on Iceday, so I'm confused.

Nope, think it only affects elemental magic based on description.
/shrug

BLM don't really heal as a main thing, so lightsday doesn't affect us much, and it's not like we really have a large list of dark magic for use in combat anyway.

No, Cure spells aren't Elemental Magic, they're Healing Magic. It only effects Elemental Magic based spells.

Clarification on these:
The day of the week enhances that element's magic abilities. Such as, Fireday would increase your fire spells' effectiveness, but with this its even more profound.

Would these enhance dark magic on Dark's Day? Although darkness is an element, it is a different skill than "elemental magic."

Yeah, I'm one of those people that like knowing about powerful items long before i should even think about getting them.
