Tried for ***** and giggles (and for wishful thinking) on using Lizard eggs instead of crawler eggs and it doesn't work.

Also, Flurry Courante can't be handed in for Guild Points if the item of the day is Icecap Rolanberry. I HQ'd on my 3rd try (78 skill, no add-ons, facing west) and the npc wouldn't take it.

Soooo...if you get Patissier and want to make use of it here you get to use an extra ingredient (Vanilla) to get the same thing. Try as I might I just can't make any sense out of that.

Yup you cannot swap crawlers eggs with bird eggs in this recipe. I tried it the other day and it doesn't work.
Only problem was that I bought crawler eggs for 30k a stack on Valefor which was a little more then I was expecting to pay.
However the HQ version goes for 15k each and then NQ is 10k. I managed to make 4/12 HQ (at lvl 88 cooking) versions which I gave to my friend as I he made me quite a few stacks of gelatin.
The rest was traded in for GP!

Try out bird egg insted of crawer egg, I dont know if it works but for Apple Pie you can use bird egg insted of lizard egg. I check it out whe I get to around cooking 51.

Actually, bird and lizard eggs are the only eggs that can be used in same food recipes. The recipe with lizard eggs is the first chance and the bird egg being the later chance. And its not just in pies, its also in biscuits, egg recipies and cookies ^^

The correct info for this is as follows:

Food duration: 180 minutes

Effects for icecap rolanberry:

* MP +19% (Cap: 55@289 Base MP)
* Intelligence +2
* Resist vs. Wind +5

Not stackable.

HQ #1: Snowy Rolanberry.

(Snowy Rolanberry lasts for 240 minutes, the regular version, Icecap, lasts for 180 minutes.)

I love these for my rdm/blm! gives me enough MP and a nice little kick to my INT, so i dont feel guilty when the timer runs up, and i chow down a Marron Glace lol These are fun to make, too... but its so hard getting the C. Eggs for it ><
Crawler Eggs
# May 14 2005 at 7:24 AM Rating: Decent
This thing is very annoying to make, it costs around 5.5K to buy from lower jeuno but making only costs around 2k.
Find Crawler Eggs in the Auction House is like camping for NM pops. Good GP, but hard to craft.

I use these frequently for BCNM.

+2 INT, +18%mp with a +66MP cap, lasts for 180 minutes.

Correct me if i'm wrong, although i use these often and have found this information to be right.

I made a batch of these after makeing orange au lait, and didnt have the money to put it on the AH, i checked here for the stats so i could bazzar them and leave it over night with the stats so ppl knew what they did

But the info here isnt that clear, so, i ate one, and this is what i found.

+38mp
+2INT

I went from 202 -> 240 mp.
The +38mp doesnt look planned so i assume that this means this is a %.

If im not mistaken, this is a 18% increase.
Looking good.

I then gave it to a lv somthing taru smn. he had an mp of 647 and this turned to 702. this is an 8%. Then i realised that he has equip on, so -62mp from his equip and this leaves 585, which comes to 20% increase.

This raises an interesting point.
% modifiers work to your base mp (i assume hp also) and will not be helped by +mp equip.

(BASE MP x %Modifier) + equip modifer

eg. a MNK/WAR wearing 2x astral rings, will see no effect other than the +2INT from this food

These are the only effects i have seen. No +5 vs wind and no 10hp and no -1AGI, i took this on my naked lv31 RDM so i could see there was no effects from my equip. Hope this helps. If i am wrong please correct me.

EDIT: Ok extensive testing later, these are my results-

It DOES give +55mp and +2INT
However, be warned that this is a cap. Below a certain amount of mp, this only gives you a %. So all you lv1 blm/whm/rdm/smn who have money to burn, this is not the answer. As this doesnt stack, i guess this is good for BCNMs where you dont want to shell out for an entire stack of rolanberry pies.

These do give +55 mp but it's +2 INT, not +1. Not the biggest mistake, but I thought I would clarify. And the time is much longer then 60 minutes. I helped some friends in Eldieme Necropolis last nite for over 2 hours and I still had the effect. I am almost positive that it doesn't give any HMP. Other then that, I hope they are only around 900g to make on Lakshmi as well. If that's the case, i've found a new way to make gil. =)

I just priced out the cost to make, and it's only around 900 gil, not a bad trade off for guild points. :)

I wonder how it tastes o.O. If it's icy then why do we have to use a fire crystal o.O?

i dont think it IS icy... it's a mousse, not ice cream. Smiley: grin

The reasoning may be in the effect of the crystals:

Fire Crystal: Heat
Ice Crystal: Congeal
