What's wrong with naming a server after a sucker-fish?
Other elite upgrades?

Ok, now this is arrived at by upgrade synthing a war beret. Since the war beret is part of the war synth, has anyone tried to see if the other items also have elite upgrades (the war boot, war asketon, etc....)?

Getting miserably tired of people who take the time to engrave their little name on a picture and yet don't research the recipe for the submission.

Crystal: Earth

War Beret x1
Phoenix Feather x1

level 90+ clothcrafting assumed. skill cap unknown, but phoenix feathers are not easy to come by and war berets are only made by lebel 80+ leathercrafters, so yeah, these caps are uncommon

Well as for the recipe you are 100% correct....

But as far as Elite berets being uncommon....... well lets just say when I last checked there were about 14 of them on sale at the AH. It might just be that everyone is making them because they are a new item but as of now they are anything but hard to find.

Why does it have to be a beret? The stats are cool, but it looks just plain goofy if you're wearing Errant Gear.

I agree.

The berets are really goofy looking. They don't strike fear into my enemies. Instead of a killing machine I look like a starving artist.

True, but with one of these one, your artwork could be a nice body part collage, made from all the mobs your own the living crap out of.

so you've never met any navy SEALS or the army's Green Berets, or the Air Forces Paratroopers. you know, the guys that know exactly how much pressure it takes to crush a human skull...go tell them they look like starving artists

SEALS don't wear beret's.

I doubt that anyone is gonna care what it looks like on your character. What matters most is that its benefits your job. P.S. your gonna tell me a giant pointy hat is better than a beret???

SMN/RDM or RDM/SMN, simply because they take advantage of each stat. (That's my belief anyway.)
RE: Why?

Except for the Divine Magic skill, neither RDM nor SMN have divine magic spells.

Actually, RDMs Do have divine skill (same as Dark magic skill. Both are E rating, I think), they just don't have any divine spells of their own. I suppose the logic behind it is so that when a RDM does use /WHM the divine spells will be slightly less pathetic than if they were simply using them at the skill level of the sub.

Actually if anyone cares, I know why rdm has divine magic skill. Dia originally was divine magic. When I started this game I would get divine magic skillups from casting dia. I have no idea why or when, but at some point Square-Enix decided to change dia to enfeebling magic. For some reason however, they did not change bio from dark magic to enfeebling magic when they did this.

To be honest it would make more sense to have kept it as divine magic since it is in the same spell "genre" as the elemental enfeebles line of spells (burn, frost, choke etc..) which also do not count as "enfeebling magic" but instead give "elemental magic" skillups. Since you cannot have two of the elemental enfeebles that are next to each other on the elemental wheel on the mob at the same time, (if you burn the mob you cannot frost it, for example, but you can drown it, which will overwrite burn.) And since dark and light are kept seperate from the wheel as opposites which are also adjacent to each other, you cannot have both dia and bio active on the same target and bio will always have to upperhand.

The reason I bring all this up is that it makes no sense why that of this whole line of enfeebles which all work the same way, only dia was changed to "enfeebling".

Any pair of mage jobs can only use 3 of the 4 bonuses on this hat... so basicaly any pair of jobs that can use this hat will work well.

-edit: stupid typo ><
