Inferno Goblins are second to Solusek goblins in difficulty. They are found throughout Solusek's Eye, and are typically encountered around the bar area (Location: -725, -680) of the Castle.

The wizards can be paritularily dangerous, and despite their low HPs, can cause significant amounts of damage in a short time.

Like all casters in Solusek's Eye, the Wizards can see invisible.

I was looking for the heart of fire for ivy etched armor quests. I was able to camouflage outside and come in safely. Even at lvl 40 many of the mobs will attack so sneaking was easier. I got to the bar room as suggested and saw a few "inferno goblins". I saw some of the Inferno Goblin Wizards on track but they were far away so I stayed put rather than getting lost. While clearing the bar area I saw an Inferno Goblin Wizard pop up closer on track. He was a few rooms away, one with a barred metal gate on the side. He dropped the Heart the first time. I must have got lucky. Good luck to you too, ranger.

Got mine to pop just next door to the bar, in the room to the right of the bar as you walk in from the outside hallway. There are two dormitories that are attached to that smaller room, and one spawns a single inferno placeholder. It will cycle, and if you are by yourself, (which I was, leve28 wizard) it can be a somewhat safe camp to try and solo this quest at that level.

The one I killed conned white at 28, and a couple other players walked in while I ws camping and we managed to make it pop and drop the heart on the first try. VERY satisfying!

I got mine on the first wizard I encountered. I cleared the bar room area, camped out, checked some stuff on the bazaar, came back found him, killed him, looted heart.

I was a 52 wizard at the time of the killing
I got luck most likely

I had needed the Heart of Fire for some time now. I started searching for this guy and never new where to find him. even comming here i found alot of differant places people had seen him. the bar, the jail, and in deeper areas of the zone. last night i ran into the zone for the 5th time since i started looking for him and ran right to the bar. killed 3 fire goblins and then saw this guy casting. i was OOM so i was thinking to myself "F^*%(* thats just great!" any way i kill him and poof there is the heart. first time i kill him actualy first time i see him and i got it.

Heart of fire was found on second wizard I dropped in Solusek's Eye (SolA).

Loc of first: -850, -500. It was down the tunnel towards a dead-end I believe.

Loc of second: -820, -367. Second jail cell on the right. He is the one who had the heart for me.

I just got this for my 34th level wizard last night. It was the last piece I needed for the quest, so I was ecstatic when I got it.

What I found mildly frustrating for this part of the quest was the variance in the information about the location of the Inferno Goblin Wizard. My suspicion is that you can find him as a random pop in either "The Bar" or "Room with Kindle" (numbers 15 and 2, respectively on the EQAtlas map).

However, I was convinced by somebody in-zone that he found him over and over in a room close to, but not in "The Bar." To find the room I am talking about, head through the zone as if you are going to "The Bar." At the four-way intersection just before you reach "The Bar" area, turn right. In front of you should be some stairs going up to a door. The room with the Inferno Goblin Wizard is just beyond that door. We found him and killed him, and he dropped the heart. Be very careful, though, as he has a lot of friends in there that hit extremely hard.

I would estimate the /loc of the room to be about (neg)775, (neg)610.

Other tips are to watch for the Inferno Goblin Wizard casting spells even when you can see him. That is ultimately how we located him. Also, that guy in-zone said that we could find the Inferno Goblin Wizard near a shaman. That also turned out to be correct, so if you are in the area, and you see a shaman (not sure if it is Fire or Inferno) then you are probably close.

I hope this helps some people avoid the hours long camps that seem to plague this part of the quest.

Best and most consistent location of the Inferno Goblin Wizards in in area of Fire Goblin Captain Room Kindle, and Efreeti Pits. We got two hearts from wizzies in this area-not in area of the Bar. Be warned this can be a two-three day camp! Very frustrating and EVERYTHING aggros on you. So even if you are in your 40's bring friends to help. It is much easier this way.

Camped him shortly for about an hour, but with a ranger pal. Here's the aprox loc: -160, - 750 or -80, -750, just next to the gate with the spikes. He dropped the heart the first time. Good Luck to all of you.

Ive killed about 10 of these guys in two nights and no Heart. Getting tired of camping for a inferno wiz to pop. Then when one does he is empty handed.

I'll be going to SoL A sometime soon, to get the heart. But really verant screwed this up....how do they live without hearts? it would make much more sense if they were common drops lol, o well....maybe on norrath you don't need a heart to live.
Got it

After helping a friend out with his quest in a nearby zone we decided to got to SolA to go after the heart for this quest. I already have the sleeves on but due to an earlier attempt at this (when we got Grimfeather's eye but could not complete this part) I decided to finish it off.

So here was the make up of our group: 30 warrior, 31 ranger (me), 26 enchanter, 30 druid, 43 druid, 41 druid. Having been here before-learned my way around due to multiple deaths I lead the group down to that area where there is that big gate. We centered the group in the area right by the gate where the two doors are. I was looking around for the barroom and aggord a couple of friends. So, I brought my friends back to the area where my group was and about pooped in my pants when I opened the door and saw that my group already had about 4 on them (I had three). We did our best and fought them off but unforutnately lost the 30 druid and the ench in the process. While we were sitting in that room medding a goblin wizard popped. The warrior and I took him out and there it was. Heart of fire...woohooo.

While we were there I saw about 4 to 5 wizards on track in that close proximity. I would suggest having a strong group before you try this since there aree alot of creatures in here and even the green ones will aggro you. Plus, invis does not work:(

Good luck

I was in the barroom the last two days (and prolly going again tonight) first time we had a full group 28-35 and in 3 hours had 2 totems and 1 heart drop, as well as two mugs from drunkard. the second time we had 2 groups - 4 (31-34) and 5 at (27-31) all in the barroom , and in four hours had one heart drop (in the first 30min) and 3 idols, 2 mugs again
I think once or twice an inferno wizzy popped in the barroom or an adjecnt room, but most of them came from a little deeper in (all in the barroom/merchant area tho)
Ridiculous
# Jul 11 2001 at 1:15 AM Rating: Default
They are ridiculously rare.

I and a friend of mine have been camping the bar room and all the adjacent zones for 5, yes 5 hours and have seen NO inferno goblin wizard and NO fire goblin wizard (just two drunkards and no bartender, btw).
How are we supposed to get Ivy Sleeves if the monsters never shows up?

I think they all messed up this thing by making the drop interesting for both rangers and wizards, then they understood that the staff for wizard was too UUBER for the level and made the wizzies rare as hell.

Honestly, you better buy the sleeves from the open market than trying to complete this quest.

They aren t so rare. We took 2 Inferno Goblin wizard down in less than an hour. Both dropped heart. We were two rangers in the group so we now both wear Ivy sleeves.
Maybe we were just lucky ;)

Two nights ago spent 3 hours camping the Bar Room and no Wizzards...In fact no Wizzards on track anywhere. Last night spent 4 hours. First 2 hours in different places outside of Bar Room, found 2 Wizzards and no heart. Then it gets wierd. Went back to Bar Room and 4 Wizzards spawned in 2 hours. Last one had the Heart. So 7 hours, 6 Wizzards...and one Heart. Conclusion Bar Room is the best bet, but it is a very erratic spawn.
no wizard

me and some friends just spent about 4 hours in the barroom and we saw no wizard and the bartender popped only once...we had every single room on that side empty(50+ druid and ranger with little old me 28 ranger) so alls i know is if you plan to get the heart you better have a group of ppl who can stay there a while=)we got to tired cuz we had just been chasing griffons and the like all over NK...did get the rune though=)
just need that damn heart
no wizzy

Camped the barroom last night for about 2 hours, had a ranger friend with me, who had them on track, but said they were much deeper in. Not once did a wizzy pop in the barroom, we did have a drunkard show up. Hehe Needless to say no heart of fire :o( But I did get a fire crystal staff off drunkard. Anyone know anything about this being a quest item? Just wondering.

There seems to be varying opinions on the rarity of this Heart of Fire. I plan to do this over the weekend providing the group I am forming does not fall through. I will return with a definitive answer to this subject. I feel it is an obligation to report this for my Ranger brethren out there, as I know first hand how hard this Ivy quest is. I currently have the Tunic, Bracers, Helm and leggings. If any of you have any questions please post. I would be happy to answer any questions about these items. Or post at my guilds web site at www.eqwolf.com. Good journey to you brothers and my Tunare light your path.
I really starting to dislike the bar room.
# Jan 27 2001 at 8:37 PM Rating: Decent
Camped it 2 hours one night, one inferno gob wiz, no heart.
(2 bartender, 0 drunk spawns btw).

Camped it 4 and a half hours the next night, one inferno gob wiz, no heart (0 bartenter and 1 drunk spawn).

I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever finish the Staff of Temporate Flux quest.
Rare drop?
# Jan 16 2001 at 2:21 PM Rating: Decent
We camped the bar room for about 4 hours last nite, killed 6 wizzies, and no Heart of Fire. I /OOC'd that I would pay 20PP to be able to loot it and noone had seen it. Just an FYI that it seems rare. We will be back tonight...
Pathing
# May 26 2000 at 1:06 PM Rating: Decent
The barroom, the most common spawn point for the inferno wizzies, can be easily soloed by any caster 29+. You just need to take adavantage of the pathing and skip over the bar...
