Duo with Time+ geared 70 zerker (14k hp, 740/909 ac buffed for fight) and 70 shaman in era - OoW unlocked progression server. Around 700 aa's each.

Quick Stats:
50,000 HP
1,200 max hit (on shaman pet) 861 on Zerker
250 avg dps (was on shaman pet for 5k of its total damage)

Pre-cast heal over time on the Zerker. No other heals were required.

Pulled all 3 on to zerker and hit riposte disc to buy time for shaman to slow. Killed the adds first. Fight was done in 62 seconds. The two smaller sharks had 15k HP each.

Solo with merc.
# May 01 2010 at 1:40 AM Rating: Decent
67 shaman with a Journeyman I tank merc. Full defiant gears (intricate/elaborate).

Started with invis v. animals. swam a good distance away.

Pulled the killer shark with malo (resisted) and my merc ran to all 3 of them and held them off.

Turgur's got resisted (as malo got resisted) and merc's hp was dropping fast.
Healed the merc a couple times, then went to cast malo on the killer shark which landed, and turgur's was almost succesful.

From that point on I DoT'ed all 3 sharks and went into healing mode.

Was not super easy, but ended with 30% mana and 60% hp (cannibalized).

Got summoned once when Turgur's landed on killer sharks (other 2 smaller ones were left at their own speed and taken out first).
My experience...

Tried to solo this part this morning. Was hoping I could VP/root park the adds, however, they are all immune to root. Balance of Discord landed on all of them, first try. Turgur's took a few tries to land on Gnashing Killer Shark, with Malos.

I'm a level 70 shaman, max defensive AA through DoDH. I went in with Tenacity, BSG, and self buffs. Was 10.5k hp 8.4k mana 1900 AC. Was just chain healing myself and using pet for DPS. Got Gnashing to 70% before he turned on my pet and pet died, then it was all over. Had not even popped SC yet.

I think it would have been possible if I spent more time building aggro before sending my pet in. Use spiritual channeling AA and you can fight for 4 minutes just chain healing yourself. Bring a few HoT potions since you likely won't have time to cast your own. 4 Minutes is plenty of time for a full-buffed pet with Leopard/Panther to kill Gnashing, problem is holding aggro while keeping yourself healed. Also thinking about trying to pull them all to the Skyshrine zone area to use the 90 degree corners there... less casting interupts. This first attempt was done on the beach near bulthars.

Max hit from Gnashing was 1194. Max from Feeder was 299. Max from Darting was also 299. All slows were "partially successful." Didn't try to use any dots.

Hope this helps someone.

Effect Used

It used an effect called "Savage Jaws." I've no idea what it does. I resisted it every time.
OK, so here's how i did it

Thanks to everyone who posted about being invis to animals first.

Ok so i invised up, had all my guys, minus my paladin(70) on the beach, right near the last shellfish collector(on the way to siren's) near the water.

Had my paladin about 100 yards from the boat with Pacify loaded

Said the phrase and then swam to shore.

Now, if you could look through the boat to where she is swimming when the sharks spawn the big one is sorta inside/outside the middle of the boat(its in two pieces at the bottom), the other 2 are little and are right underneath him, one on each side of him.

Now, you have to get to just past the middle of the boat so that you can see and target both of the little fishes.

Cast pacify(from paladin good up to level 55)

On both, refresh time is a pain.. takes like 6 seconds bleh but its enough

pull him and swim fast as you can to the shore, pull him right up onto the shore.

He is partially slowable and hits like a sissy, do NOT enrage or rampage.

Cannot be snared, does summon but who cares he is a total punk, but if you get all 3 yes it can be a pain, as one of them does rampage(lightly) but they can all be slowed, so you could easily tank all 3 with proper healing and fast acting slower and someone who can hold aggro on all 3.

That's it, btw, i did kill the other 2 but in truth i think its for no reason as i already looted the item.

Summons

Summons, not to many hp, solod with my war with Discs, trunch stick, HoT potion, with oak/symbol/wunsh/self haste. We did a quick pull with my bard to beach to shaman and ranger. We were not ready for summon (had been told he didnt) he wiped us fairly quickly. I had my war camped on the beach, logged him in ran back and it was still camping corpses, slow stick first, swapped to wrath staff, savage disc, c.voice, Hot potion, at low health i hit furious/fellstrike and burned it out.

Tried this guy last night. Myself (70 shm, 7kmana, 5.8khp unbuffed), 70 rng, 70war(7.3khp unbuffed) and a 68 clr. Used IVA, spawned the large shark and ran back to the beach. I tried to pet pull, but if you get too far away, the sharks just kill your pet and sit there. When you head back, they agro from twice as far as usual...that being said, when the ranger and I headed back he went in first, tried to harmony but it was too late. I got agro next and died right as I got to the beach. My tank stayed up for a minute, but we wiped after not too long. We rezzed, got both of the smaller sharks to single pull. They were beyond easy...I didnt bother slowing them and the clr didnt have to heal. We were just finishing medding when i turned around to pull the Gnashing Killer Shark when we realized that he had Despawned=(. Make sure you pull him and kill him in what seemed to be probably 30 minutes or less. Also, when he despawns, so does Yoppa. It has been about 12 hours, gunna go see if shes up again yet...ill let ya know=P

Dance

EDIT: Yoppa had respawned after my trip back arpox 8 hours later, so its not a huge deal if you lose the spawn. It is probably around a 2 hour respawn actually, 8 hours wouldnt be SOE's style.

Just killed
# Dec 11 2005 at 9:07 PM Rating: Decent
Just killed this mob with a 70 sk, 70 clr, and myself (66 shammy). I went IVA, said the words, mobs spawned right behind me. Got ranja to harmony and snare pull the gnashing killer shark only. Ranja died on beach so it was only dog and sk for dps... I kept spirit of leapord and MA and dots on mob.. went down in about 3 mins with cleric at 70M and me at 60M, easy fun fight
Invis vs. Animals
# Sep 07 2005 at 12:28 PM Rating: Decent
Invis vs. animals (a shaman spell) works. I spoke to Yoppa with IVA on and the sharks spawned. I was able to use my pet to agro them while I ran to the shore. They are definately NOT soloable. But I would imagine one good organized group would be ok, two probably better.

I just tried to pull this guy solo to see how hard he was. With levitate and invis it is fairly easy to pull him onto the shore.

When buffed my 70 shaman has 9000 hp and 1700 ac.

Max hit on this big shark was 1144... most hits were 500-900.

His 2 little friends were only hitting from 50-150. And got one hit in for 300.

He is slowable, although he did resist my only attempt at slowing before I died.
invis vs animals

I just tried this, and spawned the sharks while invis vs animals was up - so no need to use up an insta cast invis potion.

I don't think you can make drinking the potion be part of a "social button" hotkey. However, you can put the pots in a top-level inventory slot and make that slot be a hotkey. (Or bind a key to the potion belt.) Then you can hit the hotkey for the trigger phrase, and immediately hit the hotkey for the potion, and that's quick enough that you'll be invis before anything can aggro.

After a near wipe, I think The best way to do this guy is this. Bring an insta-invis pot. Hotkey the phrase and the potion, so as soon as you key the phrase, you can activate your potion. Then, the 3 sharks will be spawned and not aggroed on you. Anyone in your group who can Lull should be able to Lull all 3 sharks. Lull 2 of the 3 and pull. Whichever way you decide to do it. Whether it be the Gnashing Killer Shark first, or one of the other two. Building aggro on the 3 sharks all together was a difficult task, so insta-invis and grab em one at a time.

Edited to include that the ugly ogre will see through Invis Vs. Animals, but the sharks won't. I'd use that instead of potions.

Note: all the sharks that spawn from trigger phrase seem to sumon

We just killed this mob (and his 2 friends) with a bard, cleric, ranger, wiz and myself (68 shaman). First, I spawned the sharks with my group right there underwater with me. BAD MOVE, DON'T DO THAT! The insta invis potion is necessary tho, unless you wanna die.

I recommond saying "The Elder ... sent me", using the potion, and getting a bard/chanter/paci class to pull the main shark to the beach. We found this out the hard way: the ranger was running away (as usual), and he ran to the port in. Lo and Behold, this shark happens to be a LANDSHARK! You can fight him on land, np!

Anyway, after we res'd the ranger and wiz (who both died to the initial hail), we pulled him from the port in to the beach. I tanked him (6600 hps buffed, ~1400ac) and kept agro with slow, cripple, bane and spear of torment when I wasn't trusharing myself or tnarging.

It is possible to do it! Just can't solo it (at least, I can't .. ;p)

Just got done killing this thing with a lvl 65 ranger lvl 67 Chanter level 67 SK lvl 67 Druid lvl 67 Cleric and myself lvl 65 shammy

Shark when we were able to single pull it to shore did max damage of 1200 procd a dd of 350 and he summons. We were able to debuff him with the usual line of debuffs between all of us though it took me 2x to get him slowed. Sk did the tanking while the cleric druid and i spam healed tank

btw took us 4 wipes before we managed to get the right battle plan going to get it right

I did do one trick that should help make sure you are max hailing distance of teh NPC that trigges the shark spawn and have an instainvis potion handy to cast once you /say the elder spirit sent me to Yoppa Grennthumb. have teh chanter Mezz the mobs and either let teh sk or Chanter pull the mob to shore. and let teh sk Fear kite it till debuffs and slow are on it then let tank do all the damage while the healers spamm heal tank this worked and themob was dead in less than 3 min
