My 68 Enchanter dire charmed him and buffed him.
He and I could pretty much take on any light blue mob we found all the way to the Greasy Clockwork where we had to stop for the day.
He regens his HP back very slowly.
We did not fight Greasy obviously, but we made it that far into the zone.

There are plenty of zones w/o places for chanters to get pets. As for this weighty polearm that it dropped, i'd guess it was put on the lil guy before you got to him when he was someones pet.
This guy is 46 and is a wonderful DC pet hitting for 149 max and doubling when hasted properly. I suggest you go without any mage wind blades as they seem to deminish this guys dmg output, though the fists are awsome. One last note..when DC'ing this guy position him like a rouge pet he does max dmg allot more when behind the mob.

This mob hangs out just to the left of the zone-in. He's a real gimp compared to the other mobs around him. Me thinks that he's there so Enchanters can DireCharm him.
The fact that he's really small (he spawns that way, its not from being charmed and then TC'ed) is probably to save mana from TC, or just so he stands out from the rest of PoI mobs.
I've seen him drop various no-rent weapons which bolster my theory. That, and also he's indifferent to all and won't agro when you wander close to him.

I fought this guy with my group earlier today and it dropped a Weighty Polearm. Not sure the stats..a big 2HS axe that the warrior was ecstatic to get.

conned lt blue and indiff to my 61 mage.../shrug
couldnt possible make a zone that didnt have a spot for chanters to get a DC pet
