You know, some gobs and other mage-type mobs will actually cast this on themselves sometimes. As far as I know, there aren't any abilities or spells that can even inflict a petrified status that players have access to, and even if we did they wouldn't be able to cast it on themselves when they're petrified.
They must be stoned.

Yeah last nite i was fight NM Yagudo High Priest and it kept casting stona on itself XD stoned indeed
