Narasimha Special Attacks
Historical InformationIn Hindu mythology, Narasimha was the 4th avatar of the god Vishnu. Described as having the face and claws of a lion, and the body, arms, and legs of a man, Vishnu utilized this form when confronted the rakshasa Hiranyakashipu. Hiranyakashipu, seeking vengeance on Vishnu for the killing of his brother Hiranyakasha, obtained a boon from the god Brahma that he could not be killed in day or night, inside or outside a house, on the ground or in the sky, with any weapon, by human or animal, or by any demigod or demon. Narasimha was Vishnu's answer to Brahma's boon, as he was neither human nor animal, and was not a demigod or demon. He attacked Hiranyakashipu at twilight (neither day nor night) in the threshold of his courtyard (neither inside or outside of a house), pulling the rakshasa atop his thighs (neither in the sky nor on the ground), and disemboweled him with his very claws (which were neither animate nor inanimate, thus not being considered true weapons).
