You can no longer reach Aster by going west from Cobblestone Village (formerly Crossroads).

Now you must go to the Bumbleberry patch and travel southwest to Raine's camp and then on down to Aster and the toll booth.

I have added pictures, but the main atlas / map seems not to have been updated yet.
