The Dares Rock Free Realms!

Today The Dares performed a Guinness World Record setting concert at E3.  According to an SOE Press Release:

"Guinness World Records recognized Sony Online Entertainment and Jive Records recording artists, The Dares, for the first concert to take place simultaneously in the real world and a virtual space during E3 in Los Angeles."

The crowd gathered hours early to catch the band perform their famous "It's Your World". Pex joined us early and had the crowd going with his boom box. The crowd went wild when the band appeared, bursting out in spontaneous dancing and cheering. "The Dares" gave an encore, then received a Guinness World Record certificate for the show!

Your ZAM Free Realms staff was in game and got video and lots of pictures (thanks ZAM Freep zhouz for the video!).  Click below to see the gallery and vid!

Electronic Arts to Publish All Points Bulletin

Electronic Arts announced at its E3 press conference that it will be publishing All Points Bulletin, the urban MMO by Realtime Worlds. According to a press release, the game will be brought to PCs in early 2010. EA has entered the exclusive marketing and distribution agreement to bring the MMO the North America and Europe.

In addition the this announcement, an APB trailer was released at the expo that contains all in-game footage. You can view it on the official APB Web site. David Jones, the founder of Realtime Worlds, created Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2, which gives the company all the reason it needs to create an MMO set in a crime-ridden city.

You can check out seven new APB screenshots in our gallery. The full announcement regarding the partnership between Realtime and EA can be found after the jump.

SW:TOR to be 1st Fully Voiced MMO

We've already posted the new cinematic trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic that debuted at E3, but the way it was presented at the expo is also worth watching, both for the costumes and the information that was revealed.

BioWare's Ray Muzyka and LucasArts' Darrell Rodriguez, both dressed as Jedi, announced that SW:TOR will be the first fully voiced MMO. "Every playable class in the game and every character you encounter in the world will have his, her or its own unique voice," said Rodriguez.

Muzyka said he thinks this will change everything for MMOs, and that the unique voices will draw the players into SW:TOR. BioWare has always focused on stories in their games, and this is another tool in their arsenal.

You can view Muzyka's and Rodriguez's full speeches in the presentation video of the cinematic trailer at E3. The video is hosted by G4.

New SW:TOR Cinematic Trailer and "HoloNet" Web App

Hot on the heels of the recent Republic Trooper playable class video, the Star Wars: The Old Republic team just debuted a new cinematic trailer titled "Deceive." The video illustrates "The Sacking of Coruscant," a historic event in Star Wars mythology described by the developers as "the crowning achievement of the Sith Empire’s ambitious military strategy and the moment that changed the history of the Old Republic forever."

If you're a 'Wars fan and that doesn't give you the “tinglies,” this may be a good time to check your pulse. In addition to the new trailer video, the official SW:TOR site just launched a new Web tool called "HoloNet," a feature based on (and tied to) the in-game data network of the same name. According to developers, the HoloNet "contains detailed records on classes, planets, factions, and a timeline of Old Republic History." Specific details regarding how the Web tool will work in conjunction with the in-game HoloNet haven't been clarified yet. At this stage, it appears to provide fans with a more efficient means of accessing info about the above-mentioned mechanics throughout the game's continued development.

Check back with the HoloNet periodically as it develops, and remember that you can also count on ZAM to bring you the best news and more at our SW:TOR portal site!

Daily News Blog Launches; No Cryptic Booth at E3

The Champions Online Daily News, the official blog of the superhero MMO written by professional journalist Colin Campbell, has launched, and today's entry focuses on the game's presence at E3.

According to the post, neither Cryptic or Atari have booths at the convention, but executives and and producers are there to talk about Champions with the media and friends. Cryptic CEO John Needham said "we just don’t feel it makes economic sense for us" to spend money on a big show-floor presence.

Due to its official status, the blog also contains behind-the-scenes information on Champions, such as this entry that takes us inside the producers' daily meeting, which lasts about 15 minutes and gets the team up to speed on what everyone's working on that day.

Fallen Earth Devs Blog, Twitter from E3

Members of the Fallen Earth dev team will be at E3 this week, and there's a couple of ways you can keep track of their adventures at the conference. Or, if you prefer to read posts that are comprised of 140 characters or less, head over the the Fallen Earth Twitter page for up-to-the-minute updates from the floor of the convention. Here's the most current entry: "The team arrived safely in LA--and promptly started enjoying a late night breakfast at IHOP... Yum."

G4 Shows Exclusive Jumpgate Evolution E3 Trailer

Even though NetDevil President Scott Brown recently let fans know that the release of Jumpgate Evolution has been delayed, that doesn't mean announcements regearding the game have stopped. In fact, members of the MMO's team are present at this week's E3 conference, and G4 has an exclusive first look at the trailer being shown by Codesmasters and NetDevil at the convention.

"The nations of humanity stand on the brink of war," the narrator tells us as small ships participate in dogfights in space. "This is a time for heroes, for champions, willing to explore the dark corners and face the dangers of this age. Our ancestors were not born beneath the stars, but our children will be. Go forth, pilots. Your destiny awaits."

What do you think of the trailer? Let us know in the comments section below.

Heroes of Telara Details Released at E3

Trion World Network has released details Heroes of Telara, it's first title, at E3. According to the game's official Web site, which just launched today, the world of Telara "teeters on the edge of darkness" following centuries of conflict. Four rival factions are fighting for control, and only the brave citizens of the city of Port Scion can restore peace.

According to a press release, the game boasts a "unique class system that allows the players to play every character class in the game and choose a class specialty, or 'subclass,' the hero will be well equipped to overcome these challenges." The combat system is apparently easy to learn, which is good because you'll be fighting hordes of enemies in the "one vs. many" battles. Also, players will be able to "train in every profession and engage in any crafting activity," as well as join a faction in an attempt to control territories.

You can view 15 screenshots of Heroes of Telara in our screenshots gallery. If you're interested in the game, you can also keep track of updates on Twitter or Facebook. The full press release regarding the announcement can be found after the jump.
