Warhammer Online Patch 1.4.3 Launches with Event

Warhammer Online version 1.4.3 is now live and brings with it the launch of the two-week Sigmar Tide live event. As the team explained in May's Community Update, "Sigmar Tide is the time of the year when the Empire takes pause to celebrate the day Sigmar – the founder of the Empire and first emperor – became a god."

In addition to the event, version 1.4.3 adds a group of RvR accessory sets, the ability to purchase Name Change Tokens, and a new Scenario lineup.

ZAM Launches Upgraded Forum Interface

Over the past several months, we've been working on revamping our forum interface to make posting on ZAM a more streamlined and enjoyable experience. We are proud to announce that our upgraded forums are now live! We've stripped away the clutter and added a variety of new features, from updated contact information options to the ability to embed YouTube videos in your posts.

The main focus of this revamp is to make our forums easy to use. Posting buttons are more prominent, you can quickly reply to a thread directly from the thread view page, and you can now search within a thread. We've also expanded the options for our non-premium members. They can now select from a variety of pre-made avatars, use emoticons, enjoy mouse-over previews and post images and polls after reaching a specific post count.

We have forums for multiple games and topics, and we've made it easier to move from forum to forum. In the top right corner of the main forum page, you can quickly jump to any category. Whether you want to talk about games like Rift and World of Warcraft or more general topics like computer hardware or TV and movies, we've got you covered. We even have a new Star Wars: The Old Republic forum, so be one of the first users to share your thoughts on this highly anticipated MMO!

For more details on all of these changes, check out our design update notes after the jump. We hope you enjoy our forum upgrade! If you have any feedback or comments, please feel free to post them in this thread or send a private message to Kaolian, our senior forum administrator, or Darqflame, our customer relations manager.

Warhammer Online's May Community Update

Warhammer Online has released their May Community Update. Patch 1.4.3 is still slated to go live in June and in the mean time the team is discussing the Sigmar Tide Event which will come with it. Since the event is not hitting the PTS the team is giving some more clues on what to expect.

With Memorial Day right around the corner, Warhammer Online is also currently running 50% bonus on RP and XP now through Tuesday, May 31.

WAR Offers Free Transfers to Badlands, Karak Norn

The Warhammer Online team just announced that players on Athel Loren have the option to choose free transfers of their characters and guilds to Badlands or Karak Norn. Here are the details:

"To facilitate this we have enabled the multi-realm ability for Badlands and Karak Norn.  This allows accounts to have both Order and Destruction characters on the server and increases the character limit to 20.  There will be an 8 hour lockout when switching realms on the server.

Please welcome your new comrades-in-arms (or enemies) and help them to settle in."

Warhammer Online's April Community Update

Mythic Entertainment has released the Warhammer Online April Community Update. April has been all about patch 1.4.2 which was just released. The team is getting plenty of positive feedback on the patch, but one of the more controversial issues has been the armor set changes, which was one of the focal points of the patch.

The team is looking toward the future saying, "We are planning to launch version 1.4.3 in late June. We will talk about the exact highlights as the patch date approaches, but the upcoming 'Sigmar Tide' event will be an important part of that release." The Simgar Tide event is to celebrate the day Sigmar became a god. The above image is a sneak peak of something new for this live event...

Warhammer Online Version 1.4.2 Launches

Today marks the launch of Warhammer Online version 1.4.2, which focuses on Tier 4. Here are the highlights:

  • Power Changes: The highlight of this patch is a continuing focus on the Tier 4 experience in terms of power levels and power gaps. The team has made some changes to the mechanics and items that are available within this Tier.
  • Scenario Shakeup: The lineup of the Scenarios has once again shifted.  A number of old scenarios are making their return, some are retiring for the moment, and others are shifting tiers.
  • New Pets: New vanity pets have shown up in the capital cities. Some of them are just companions to follow you around between battles, while others are scrounging pets that will add 5% to the gold looted with them active.

Warhammer Online Producer's Letter - March 2011

It's a fairly short Producer's Letter this month from James Casey, but that doesn't stop it from being packed full of information! In his latest Producer's Letter, James encourages players to head to the Warhammer Online forums to generate some more discussion in the developer's corner. He notes that the team is trying to get more feedback and discussion generated around some WAR mechanics, so it might be worth to go voice your opinion. In other news, James also touches very briefly on some upcoming development plans going into the future, most notably being an interesting "advanced crafting" system and some new updates with the Verminous Horde. Best of luck, Warhammer Online!
