I need to read Ippo at some point. Maybe when I have like 3 days of my life to use reading it

To lazy to ctrl+f. Go read Shokugeki no Souma if you haven't already. There's only ~12 chapters out. So good.
I'll look that up next. Thanks for the recommendation!
Edit: HA! This series is ridiccccccculous so far. In a good way. It's like a shounen version of Addicted to Curry, or a more ecchi version of Yakitate Japan!. Makes me hungry
Edit2: Yeah, I really can't tell if they're parodying Yakitate, or it's just so similar. This image:
Is basically identical to Yakitate, if you said "Japan #8"
Anyway, two more to talk about...
Tanabata no Kun is a somewhat dark sci-fi story. Basically, certain people who live in a remote village develop ESP, but the more they use their ESP, the less human they become. The story reminded me a lot of Parasyte. I thought it was pretty good, and it brought together a whole lot of interesting themes, but left a lot of questions unanswered (like, what is "outside the window?"). It was pretty enjoyable, but while the ending was pretty conclusive and didn't feel abrupt, I kinda wish it had answered more. The manga's a bit gory, but not really scary.
Continuing with the "weird things happen in remote Japanese villages" theme, I really enjoyed
Tajikarao. Basically about a remote village in the mountains populated mostly by the elderly that worship a local god named Tajikarao. When the yakuza start working with some people to force the old folks off their ancestral lands, some young outsiders show up and decide to help them fight against the mobsters. One ends up inheriting the power of the god... or so I'd assume. Unfortunately the series is complete with 43 chapters, but I could only find 31
The series is a little mature, as there's occasional nudity and some violence, and it focuses a lot of folk lore gods. It's slightly supernatural, but so far there's only been one or two truly supernatural events. I'm looking forward to seeing how it ends... if I can ever find a translation of the rest!
