Hello! I mine a LOT and get a plethora of gold/darksteel/silver/iron ores and usually need a fast way to sell them. If you want me to be your personal ore salesman i sell gold for 8k,darksteel 5k, iron 500 and silver 300.
theres no specific skill level you need for mining right? so can you get any type of ore depending on where you mine? even if its your first time?

As long as the mobs in the area dont feel like biting you, mining will be a safe sport. No skill required.

AFAIK, the only thing that affects how well you can mine/log/harvest is the Field gear (tunica, gloves, hose, and boots) or +1 version Worker gear. The items say "improve results of blah blah blah". Not sure if that means it actually improves the rate at which you get results from the activity, or if it reduces the amount of tool breakage, or both. FYI, only 3 pieces of gear affect mining -- Tunica, Gloves and Boots. Field/Worker Hose affects logging and harvesting, but not mining.
My first attempt at mining was in Palborough Mines. And without any Field gear on, I lucked out and got a chunk of Platinum Ore. So yeah, no prior experience needed.

Ok let me clarify this for you guys.. I've been mining since the beginning of may and i know what field gear does for you. The field gear lessens the chance of your pickaxes/sickles/hatchets breaking, however the drops are still completely random other than the moon phase having its effect. Workers and field are just like the anglers and fishers... no bonus to skills just a defense bonus.
