Being Called a Geek/Nerd/No Life/Loser? (was forum=5)Follow

#1 Mar 20 2007 at 5:35 AM Rating: Default
I'm getting really annoyed from these insults. Not because they are paticularily hurtful to me, but because they are just very annoying. When people use insults like these they act as if they are the perfect humans without error. If they were to take a video camera and record their life for 2 weeks (without faking it), I bet we could all find flaws in their lifestyle choices. How do you guys respond to these silly insults? Sorry to offend my fellow "geeks/nerds/losers/no lives", but I think this issue needs to be addressed.

1.) Grab something heavy.
2.) Pick it up and put it down.
3.) ???
4.) Profit.

Once you can make a tire iron crumble in fear when you flex at it, people stop calling you a nerd.

Since the populatity of consoles increased it's practically fashionable to be a geek these days, unless you actually are a Nerd/No-life/loser.

In which case the truth hurts, learn to play a sport, fatty and stop complaining that you're own lack of social skills gets you bullied.

I'd go and see a doctor if i where you....

... but then if you have warts at least you're hardly likely to be bracketed in the "Lo-life/Loser" catagory!

Dirty ho maybe but not no-life/loser.

You dirty ho!

Way to be part of the problem, man.

OP: I don't know where it is that you're hearing all the insults, but for me it was mostly in school, and when I finished with school they stopped.

It's called taking control of your life. If you don't like it, do something to change it. Everyone always wants to sit back and say X people are mean to me because they say I'm fat, bald, stupid, have glasses, etc. Aside from being stupid all that **** you can do something about. People always want to point fingers and lay blame. It's insane. You're an adult. Take responsibility for your life.

It took me years to come to the conclusion myself that I was a dork. My grades in school werent good enough for me to be a nerd. My knowledge base was not large enough to be a geek. I am a dork. I know this.

Be who you are. It does not matter what others say. Yes, it can be quite annoying but, meh, life can be quite annoying.

I have been accused of geekism and nerdery before. Usually what shuts them up fastest is informing them that I get paid to play computer games.

Sick of some jerk shoving your head in a toilet? Then go lift some weights... take a karate lesson. And when he tries to do it again... kick him in the balls.

I think theres some serious problems with the posts in this thread. If you are unhappy with being a weakling/fat/unknowledgable/whatever thats a good reason to "fix it." When somebody else is exploiting this as an opening for an unneccessary attack, be it verbal, physical, or psychological; the problem lies in the attacker, plain and simple. If having a weakness doesn't bother the person then it isn't necessary to adjust. Just because somebody is weaker than you doesn't give you the right to be abusive.

Unless it's loads of fun. In which case it's totally cool. Even Jesus agrees.

I don't feel like giving serious replies today.

Pffft, Doug. Don't be all Codyyemo on me. It's 2 ******* 30 in the morning and I'm trying to do tech support. My brain feels like steamed sausage!

If you REALLY want a sincere post out of me, I'll do it and you better deliver with a ******* rateup storm the likes of which Rime would cream his pants for.
