Does anyone know how you get off the island -- and what is the best level to do it? Thanks. If this double post, sorry -- I think I hit something by accident!

Yes, first I believe you need to hit level 5. After this, you need to talk to one of the city representatives in the camp (I know the Qeynos rep is out on the docks in a hut) and accept the application for citizenship. Once this is done it seems you will get more instructions, but from wandering around I belive it will include rining that bell out on the docks near where you arrive.

PS: Dont hurry off the island. Gain as much experience and skill as you can here before leaving. It will be harder and less structured to advance and learn skills in the later.

You can leave the island at level 3 (i.e., as soon as you get there and have a class). Go talk to the Duke, and then the Ambassadors by the docks (Hit M, near the Tavern-Booze icon). From there, go to the docks you first entered the zone from (post-creation) and click on the bell at the end of one of the docks there; it'll say "Travel to Qeynos" or some such.

I've been waiting until I am level 6 and 220% of exp towards 7 before leaving... and trying to find and complete all the quests. The island is fun and you can't ever return, so take your time and enjoy it.

You can't get to 220%.

It's also not worth it, since you'll get XP by doing the steps needed to complete citizenship. If you leave shortly (+50%?) after what would be your level 7 ding you'll have done more than enough to get the maximum amount of XP from the island.

Actually you can break the 200% barrier into level 7. You just can't ding 7 until you become a citizen of your city. Once you do ding, you will be level 8+. This isn't actually a bad thing to do considering experience on the IoR seems better than what you will be getting in the newbie yards.

Everything I've read says that you can in fact get to 220%. So, I would say to do absolutely every single thing that you can on the IoR before leaving. I already discovered a handful of quests that I missed out on with my first character that I'm now doing with my 2nd.

220% is the cap. I've hit it with multiple characters during beta and I have yet to discover all the neat things on the Isle...

To get off the island, go to the beach on the East side and into the tavern there.

An ambassador inside will ask you for your loyalty to Qeynos then send you to speak to Duke-Something outside.

The duke will tell you to go ring a bell on the dock southward and a ship will take you to Qeynos.

This is not the bell from the dock you showed up on, but rather the one east of it -- south of the duke and that beach.

Approach the bell, right-click for options and it says "Ring Bell". Select this option and you zone to Qeynos.

As for best level, plenty of opinions on that already.

The directions just above my post are right, but I would go to the quest section of this site and see if there is anything you want from the island, and do all the quests first.

As posted, once you leave, you aren't coming back.
