Good afternoon. Last night, I finished downloading the entire beta (6hours) and began playing as a Euridite for 20 minutes.

I have never played EQ before, but have been playing FFXI for close to a year now. I fully plan on reading the entire manual, but I was wondering if there were any good tips/guides for getting into the game that are out yet.

I have grown very weary of the time-sink that FFXI has become and honestly have no desire to even log on anymore. I am going to hop on the open beta for WoW as well, b/c it sounds like it might cater to my busy schedule more.

I am on Beta 2, my char name being Nephthys Smiley: wink

I look forward to seeing you all on soon Smiley: yippee

Sorry for my newbness...what does NDA stand for and I hope that I didn't break it by posting. Someone mentioned that it was lifted...so I am guessing that open chat can begin?

I know it will be a time sink, but the idea that I can solo more often is much more appealling. I never said I was going to buy it, I am just giving it a try. I spend 40-50% of my time waiting on other ppl in FFXI. I loved the early lvls, I still do. Its the upper lvls that required so much itme.

Not sure who the degenerate remakr was meant for, but you can be rated down anyways for providing a crappy answer to what was an introduction and a small request for some information. Way to go buddy...

You do MUCH more stuff in the same amount of time in EQ2 then in FFXI. A very good night for me in FFXI was 1 hour to get a group together and 30 minutes to get where I wanted to be and fight. It took forever to walk to valkurm and back. I can pair up with a friend and be killing stuff in about 3 minutes in EQ2. Helps to not require a 6-man group to advance too.

That's how I feel so far too...I was able to do 10 times more things in EQ2 in the same amount of time.

That might be the nail in the coffin for me. WoW is the same way.

There's already six feet of dirt on top of my FFXI coffin, and the grass is growing.

I managed to play FFIX for about 1 month, I didn't really like the combat system...most of the people were super rude to me. So I came back to EQ, haven't regretted it. I do plan to get an all access pass when eq2 comes out, I've enjoyed beta immensley

I have been testing beta, for a while, now...and it is horribly addicting....Run for your life!!! *grins* Seriously, the nice part, is that you can set your own pace...The first 10 lvls are very nice for soloing, so don't even plan to grp until you are about 10-11...Much better experience doing your quests...Also helps you learn the areas and getting your citizenship quests done as well as getting more beginning spells and armor for completing the quest...not to mention will help to put a few copper pieces in your pocket...I have played EQ for about 2 1/2 years and currently have no plans to stop..But I can see, already, that there will be a problem with controlling my time...RL demands must come first...But, it is going to be really great to have a choice on where to spend my free time...Hmmm..Good Luck, and enjoy the new adventure *smiles*

hey Nephthys, I've seen you on the FFXI forum from time to time..

I'll likely be leaving FFXI as well so I'm interested in your opinion on EQ2 from an FFXI player perspective.
