Can you AlLT-TAB out of EQ?Follow

Having two monitors I would love to be able to come out of EQ during the game and visit web sites in order to see what certain items are, following quests etc, but for the life of me I can't see a way to come out and go back to Windows while stiill playing. ALT-TAB does not seem to work??

Is there something I am missing in the options?

Alt Enter will put you in Windows mode. You still need to gain control over your Windows Cursor. Alt Shift R should give you control over windows cursor. Might be laggy but will work. Once your done checking what you need, click inside the EQ window and hit Alt Enter (I have to hit Alt enter Twice on my PC) and you'll be back on full screen EQ.

You can also go to microsoft's web site and get the application compatibility toolkit for XP.

This program allows you to configure how windows handles different applications. Once you have it installed search for everquest and modify the parameters in associated with everquest. You can turn off blocking things like alt tab, ctrl alt del and the windows keys. I think all these keys are under one name. I don't recall what it is but if you look around and play with it you will find it.

Have fun!

I find that the Windows key (the one between Control and Alt that pops up the Start menu) is both my best friend and my bane. It's my best friend because it's an easy way for me to get out of EQ. Usually the first time I use it in a gaming session it will minimize EQ directly, so I can do what I want. After that usually it will just make EQ a window that's almost the same size as my screen. For some reason the Alt-Shift-R doesn't work to give me mouse control, but if I can hit the Windows key again I get it, and then I can grab the top of the EQ window, move it a tiny bit, and then minimize it. I have to do it this way for some reason because if I try to minimize the window without moving it the screen basically freezes, although I can regain control by hitting the Windows key again. And then to get back to full screen I just have to hit Alt-Enter.

It's my bane because if I hit it in the middle of a fight, well, there can be a pretty long load time until I can do anything again, especially if it's the first time of the session. I don't do it very often, but it always happens when I'm in a hurry to get an important spell off.

Anyway, just some information for you. Smiley: grin

Game on,
