In your opinion, which do you think will win the MMORPG war?

EVERQUEST 1

I have to agree. I am still having a good time playing EverQuest and doubt I will play anything EQ 2 or WoW. I have looked at Lineage 2 and it looks like something I would enjoy when the first EverQuest fades away. Until then I will keep playing the first one. I may try to beta EQ2 or even try out WoW. With out a lot of information on either, I really don't care to get into what will be better.

A lot has come and gone trying to be EQ killers and none have done it yet. That has to say something for itself.

I personally would like to try Everquest 2. It's a true statement that every other MMORPG has been proven inferior compared to Everquest, but if there is any game that is going to beat it, it is going to be itself -- Everquest 2. I can't even imagine how many people will try this out on the first day...I just hope they are ready for the onload. It's going to be similar to the Windows 95's release. Personally, I wouldn't jump on the bandwagon too early. I can imagine a thousand bugs will be found that would need to be straightened out, server crashes, and etc. I truly hope this isn't the case, though, or they would disappoint numerous potential customers. Who wants to wait for a game to develop and smoothen as long as Everquest took all over again? I wouldn't.

I have only been a playng EQ2 for about a year now and I have yet to get my characters above lvl 40. I have one at 40 and the rest are only 20+. It is very enjoyable to sit down and talk with EQ friends and take out frustrations of the day on the NPC's we hate the most. I will probably get EQ2 but only install and play after I have maxed a character out. Until then long live EQ1!

[i]p.s. I think EQ2 has a good chance of winning the BATTLE but unless significant changes come from SOE it will NEVER win the MMORPG war.

I have yet to be dissapointed by a Blizzard game, and if they decide to incorperate a PvP server (horde vs alliance) I will definatly be there, because Sony has yet to fix any of the various issues with their many failed PvP servers, where all my characters happen to be.

As for Everquest 2, I kind of see a lot of people trying it, but most people just comming back to the original game, I guess it will depend on how it goes, however, and a lot of different things. Personally, however, I would rather stick with the original than move on. I have more reasons for this than anyone would care to read, and most of them are merely personal preferance, so I won't list them all.

It will be interesting to see. So far place my bet as WoW > EQ > EQ2. We shall see...
