Sword Coast Legends Delays PC & Console Launches

This morning, n-Space and Digital Extremes announced that their upcoming Dungeons & Dragons RPG Sword Coast Legends will have its launch delayed again for both PC and consoles. The PC, Mac, and Linux launch is now slated for October 20, 2015, while the console schedule has been shifted to Q1 2016.

Tinertia Ups the Bar for Rocket Jumping

Two buttons, two functions. The rest is just rockets.

If you're wondering, yes that was a reference for The 7th Guest. This review, however, has nothing to do with that old (but good) puzzle game, and everything to do with rockets. Tinertiathe latest creation between Candescent Games and Section Studios uses two buttons. One for an air dash, the other for a level reset. The right-hand joystick is used for shooting rockets. You don't jump. That's it.

A Weekend With The Weaponographist

The Weaponographist, a fast-paced hack-and-slash dungeon crawler, released earlier this summer to positive acclaim on Steam. With summer convention mania behind us, we spent the weekend diving deeper into the game to see whether or not demon hunter Doug McGrave could redeem himself.

E3: Sword Coast Legends Dungeon Master Mode

Sword Coast Legends, the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons RPG based in the Forgotten Realms, has been turning heads with the list of promising features that developer n-Space has presented. Along with the promise of a massive storyline and challenging gameplay, the game will also support multiplayer as well as a Dungeon Master (DM) Mode. We got to sit in on a preview of the DM mode and participated in the resulting dungeon run last week at E3.

Greenlight Special: Izle and Monochroma

Hello once again, intrepid internet explorers. In my quest this week, I wanted to shake things up a bit and “go for the funny” which is something I pathetically chase in my day-to-day life. However, I found my initial search parameters of “funny” to lead me to some disturbing, albeit amusing games. Twitch chat was horrified, which is a feat unto itself. In any case, I was luckily handed one of the games this week, Izle, in a nice email from my Managing Editor. The other game, Monochroma, I discovered going through the annals of Greenlight history.

Greenlight Special: A.N.N.E. and Black Ice

This week for the Greenlight Special, I revisit PAX East (I know, all the way back in March) and some of the indie devs we visited while there. There wasn’t nearly enough time to delve into the IndieMega Booth, so I feel it only right to go back over the video notes we did grab. You know, for science reasons. That applies, right?

Greenlight Special: Boss Wave and Edge of Space

Hello trusty readers! I have returned and we are back to our regularly scheduled programming. Onwards! This week, I decided to loop back around to some of the games ZAM checked out while at PAX East this year. The Indie MegaBooth had so much crammed into it, and we barely scratched the surface. We managed to compile a video of 30 developers into an Indie Megabooth Megamix video, which you can check out here. Edge of Space is featured at 6:34. It’s got a shark.

The Ultimate Evil: An Early Look at Dungeons 2

Dungeons 2 is an upcoming RPG dungeon simulator developed by Realmforge Studios and published by Kalypso Media, where you'll find yourself playing the Prime Evil—or his Hand of Terror, at least. We put on our best-looking sinister hat and went hands-on with a pre-release version of the game.

The first order of business in Dungeons 2 is a quick tutorial mission where you play as the invincible Prime Evil. The game has a top-down view, with WASD panning the map, which has a fog of war for you to uncover. Using click-to-move (RMB for basic attack) you'll plow through those pesky heroes, who have the nerve to be happy on the overworld.

Unfortunately, these heroes don't appreciate being completely slaughtered, and once you have the basics down you'll find yourself returned to the underworld. How they managed to get the best of the Prime Evil is unknown, but you're left only being able to control things through his Hand of Terror.

The Weaponographist: PAX East Interview

If you're a demon hunter, it doesn't pay to be mean.

We caught up with Danny Garfield of Puuba to chat about The Weaponographist during PAX East. This hack-and-slash dungeon crawler is full of action, with a plethora of unique and amusing weapons, a wide variety of enemies and an interesting story.

In The Weaponographist, you play as Doug McGrave, a world-famous demon hunter who is, as Danny succinctly put it, "super-powerful and kind of an unrepentant jerk." When a town needed some saving due to an infestation of demons, he chose to not help and was immediately struck by a curse.

This curse isn't your ordinary run-of-the-mill curse, but instead inflicts Doug such that he cannot carry any power-ups or money. To make things worse, the weapons that he finds in the town's dungeon constantly degrade and fall apart thanks to his curse. Everything that you kill drops a weapon, though, and "you'll need almost all of them!"
