Legends: Groundhogs Day. Lots of funny. I thought Mick was going to kill Not-Vixen at the end there. But he just closed the door and walked away.

OK KO had a new episode that parodied Dexter's Laboratory. Not as good as the Captain Planet one though.

Oh, and Live Action Fullmetal Alchemist is out on Netflix. I started watching it yesterday. And how... accurate... it is to the way the anime plays out is almost cringe-worthy, but in kind of a good way? Some of this stuff doesn't translate well to live acting, I think, but it makes it funny in a way. Only about 40 minutes in. The CG is actually not that bad, not top notch, but the alchemy stuff is done better than I had expected.

Oh man I missed LoT. Guess that's what the internet was invented for.

All movie news is basically people praising Black Panther, so it's mostly slim. And honestly pretty annoying. I can't wait till August when the articles about how the movie is being snubbed for awards begins. At least Aubrey Plaza is confirmed to be returning for Legion: Season 2.

First look on iTunes for a Death of Superman animated movie. I've been laughing for like an hour.

Ya, I started watching it just after work. Watched episodes 7, 8, and 9. Gay Danger Boat. Tiny Big Headed Scientist. Tinfoil Hat roommate. Tick thinking he's a robot. I'm liking it.

I watched Gotham By Gaslight. Enjoyable. But these DC movies are always very short. The twist at the end, I honestly didn't expect. Gordon being a bad guy...

I need to go back and watch some of these older DC animated films. There are a handful I haven't watched yet.

Edit:
Watched Daddy's Home 2 over this weekend... it has the adorable little girl from Lucifer. (So does the first one). She shoots Mel Gibson, and then gets angry and hunts down two turkeys with a pump action shotgun. Kind of a random movie for this thread, but a "six degrees of Kevin Bacon" sort of thing.

Ash vs Evil Dead starts up this weekend. As does Walking Dead. And both air at the same time Sunday night. So it's Ash vs Evil Dead vs Walking Dead. Who will win? Walking Dead will come out on top of the ratings. It always does.

I watched Ash vs Evil Dead, mostly because it entertains me more. Did not disappoint. Walking Dead has been pretty mundane since like season 4. Much like the book, you can only recycle the "Humans are the real threat!" plot so many times. Goofy campy shit, on the other hand, is eternal.

Lazy copy pasta from CBM about some casting news for next season's Punisher: According to Deadline, Shooter actor Josh Stewart will play John Pilgrim, "a man whose calm exterior belies a ruthless interior. Despite having left behind a life of violence, circumstances will force him to use his old skills and bring him into Frank Castle’s world." Meanwhile, Supergirl's Floriana Lima will portray Krista Dumont, "a smart, compassionate, and driven psychotherapist for military veterans." And finally, Giorgia Whigham (Scream) will play Amy Bendix, "a street-smart grifter with a mysterious past."

You ever want to watch the Early/Mid 90s Nostalgia trip of IT / Stranger Things without the Sci-Fi/Horror Facade? "Everything Sucks" on Netflix seems to fill that...

Netflix seems to have dozens of "Originals" out there now. And they keep advertising them. The few "Netflix Original" movies I've watched haven't been all that impressive, and looking into them, many turned out to be completed films that ended up losing a studio to actually release them, and Netflix just got the rights to distribute. To me that seems a bit dishonest to call stuff like that a Netflix "original". Always makes me question how many of these shows and movies were actually made by Netflix vs just distributed by them.

Legends: Ah Rory... He was really liking the idea of Sara and Ava.

Pirates... lots of Pirates. And the messed with Captain Morgan!

Rip and Wally singing Careless Whisper was pretty good.

Man, there was a time when I could fit all of Netflix's original programming into one fairly small poll.

That's not even counting all the Amazon original, Hulu original and anything else I'm forgetting.

Barry is back in charge of Team Flash for one day and someone he is protecting dies. Though, nice take on the "hero vs hero" cliche in Black Lightning, getting father daughter fight.

Speaking of Disney, Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks The Internet Trailer. So ... how did Vanellope get out of her game after making it the whole plot of the first movie? Smiley: dubious Guess fixing the game fixed the glitch, but she kept the glitch at the end and ... I hope it's addressed soon. The little girl horrified by the Bunny Murder looks suspiciously like Moana.

Gotham came back yesterday. Haven't watched the whole thing, but Ivy's got a new actress. Not sure if it was planned or if there was something that made them have to change actresses. Her older version seemed plenty old enough to play the seductress (she already was). Though her newer one appears to be a bit more "Hot Chick".

Bruce being insufferable is now actually part of the plot instead of just the writers not knowing what to do with him.

Agents of SHIELD is back tonight. Feels like kind of a short hiatus. Rumor has it this might be the final season, but that rumor has floated up at the ends of the last two seasons as well.

X Files was pretty good this week. Lessons Learned: Robots can be dicks. Make sure to tip them.

They focused a lot on Scully's personal massager... perverted roomba, sniffed that thing out quick... Giggity.

Past two episodes were more X-Files-y. And this weeks episode was very much a joke episode. Not quite as much as the Lost Art of Forehead Sweat.

Missed opportunity to call the episode something like "Minimum Overdrive." That scene when Mulder is looking in the window of the restaurant and the glowing robot eyes are staring back was genuinely creepy.

Next season of Jessica Jones this Thursday.

Looks like Laz Alonso will be joining Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher and Nathan Mitchell on the set of The Boys as one of the quote unquote, good guys Mother's Milk. Also add Jack Quaid as Wee Hughie to the cast.

Speaking of Netflix, Luke Cage's next season will air on June 22nd. Neat little teaser to go with it.

Mary Poppins trailer. Done right.

Aaaand, Legion season 2 sees a trailer as well. Needs more Aubrey.

I started watching Final Space on TBS after it had a special airing on Adult Swim the other day. Seems like they wanted to lure the Adult Swim crowd into it, and it worked on me. Animated Comedy series about a moron who gets in trouble with an intergalactic federation of sorts, and sentenced to serve out a prison term on a space ship with nothing but a robot he hates and the computer to keep him company.

Seems they were trying to lure the Family Guy / Rick and Morty crowd from Adult Swim by showing the first episode there a couple weeks after it started airing.

David Tennant voices a character, but I don't hear it (it's different enough or modulated or something). Main character sounds like Will Forte, and acts like him, but isn't him. I set my DVR to start recording it on TBS.

Legends: Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, but did the Old Darhk not acknowledge them as being the same person as the old one was trying to kill the New one and his daughter?

Probably one of the creepiest X-Files I've seen. The Teletubby things were creepier than Mr-Smiley-Face. Seriously, who would let their kids watch that.

Watching the Magicians episode on my DVR afterward cleared that up though. A pretty good scene near the end (Music related) where the entire cast, as part of the story, sings "Under Pressure". And it was really good how they fit it into the characters and what was going on with each story. The whole sequence was about 4 minutes long, and was pretty much the entire song, not just a chorus or something.

Not sure how long this will stay up, but here's a youtube link to the scene.

Edit:
I haven't really been that into this season of Channel Zero. I watch it, but the story has been kind of dull for me. Only one episode left. Guess we'll see how it ends, but it seems to have been dragging on. Last two seasons were better I think.

Started watching Jessica Jones season 2. Only first two episodes. But I’m a bit disappointed that they killed off fat Flash. Would have been nice to keep him around for comedy. I laughed as he was running down the sidewalk. Speedforce Speed walking.

I think I might try to avoid the next season. I liked the first season, but was pretty bored with No End House, and this season isn't making any impact at all. I'm starting Jessica Jones this weekend, so I'm not touching that tempting spoiler button.

Rob Liefeld has signed on with Netflix to bring his EXTREME UNIVERSE to us. Get ready for ridiculous anatomy and hidden feet. Also, Vin Diesel apparently closed the deal and signed to star on Valiant Comics' Bloodshot. Probably one of the better books from the 90s.

Patty Jenkins confirmed that Kristen Wiig will be Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2. You know, the mousy lady from the Ghostbusters reboot?

Twitter rumor is that Deadpool 2 was screened, and it didn't too well. If true it wouldn't really surprise me. Everyone knows what to expect so that initial first reaction the first movie benefited from isn't there.

Early reviews for Ready Player One seem to land somewhere between "It's alright; pretty empty though" and "It's pretty good; sort of empty though". Fan response to the early screening at Southwest Film Festival was positive (with the obvious caveat that these were people jazzed up to see it).

Sounds like it'll be largely enjoyable, nothing life changing and at least not "This is the worst mess to be spat at a screen this decade" or anything.

I don't think I can get over the irony of how (allegedly) the villain is a corporate big-wig who exploits fan culture for profits. Exploiting fan culture is like the movie's hook.

I haven't seen the movie (obviously) so I don't know how they change it up but -- from the novel itself -- that would be a shallow interpretation. IOI essentially wants control of the entire internet (as its encapsulated in the OASIS), not just selling Ghostbusters DLC to nerds.

A coworker of mine uses a program called Stitcher to listen to podcasts and talk radio. He told me this morning and showed me an email advertisement that there is a Marvel series called Wolverine The Long Night, and he was offered 2 episodes for free on a trial to a premium service for this Stitcher program.

Sounds interesting. Episodic audio stories. I'll have to look into the story a bit before actually buying anything though. A trial may be a good option.
